Favorite Pic of the Day for May 31st

Just Because: Glee Blood

With Season 2 of 'True Blood' out I went back and rewatched a couple from season 1 as it had been awhile since I had seen it. I thought I remembered Kevin McHale from 'Glee' in a few episodes but was surprised to see Coach Tanaka, Patrick Gallagher also bringing out the Fangs.

Below: Patrick with Kristin Bauer and Alexander Skarsgard.

The Men Of 'Everyone' (2004)

I watched the movie 'Everyone' (2004), written and directed by Bill Marchant the other night. Instead of telling you a lot about the movie, I am going to link you to the website if you want to know more about it HERE: I would just say even though the movie involves the hours prior to a gay wedding (which no one really seems to want to go to, including the grooms..) the movie is really a study of relationships. The movie, and Bill Marchant, does an incredible job of introducing us to 6 couples and with little time, letting us know all we need to know. Even with little screen time each character is fully developed, complex and interesting. The male cast are all extremely talented, not to mention very good looking, and each get a moment to shine.

Mark Hildreth:
Actor Mark Hildreth might be one of the most visible of the cast of 'Everyone'. Mark currently plays Joshua on ABC's 'V'. Mark has impressive television and film resume including 'The Tutors', 'Supernatural' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End'. The veteran of the cast, Mark has been acting professionally since his first job at age 7 with Cloris Leachman and Mare Winningham in Hallmark Hall of Fame's 'Love Is Never Silent' in 1985.

Matt Fentiman:
Matt's character Ryan, to me is the heart of 'Everyone'. Matt has appeared in many tv and movie productions but current is on staff teaching Camera / Audition at the Vancouver Film School.

Michael Chase:
Besides body shaving, Michael's role of Gale was one of characters that interested me the most. His relationship with his girlfriend disintegrates within a matter of minutes in the first half of the movie.

Andrew Moxham:
Adorable Andrew Moxham has been in projects ranging from the short lived 'Saved' through the blockbuster '2012'. Besides acting, Andrew is a Cinematographer, Editor and Director.

Stephen Park:
Stephen Park, who also recent appeared on 'V' is known to many followers of cult tv for his roles in 'Supernatural', 'The Dead Zone', Stargate SG-1' and 'Eureka'. Stephen's character of Luke is one I would have liked to have seen more of in 'Everyone'.

Below: Stephen and Andrew Moxham.

Below: Mark Hildreth with Brendan Fletcher

I have posted about British Columbia's Brendan Fletcher before on the blog. Brendan plays a street kid who causes trouble at the wedding. Brendan has been a guest on may tv shows but may be best known for his role in 'The Pacific' the mini-series from the creators of 'Band of Brothers'. I love his turn on 'Smallville' and in 'Freddy VS Jason'.

Favorite Pic of the Day for May 29th

Just the pic of the day today.
I am not sure I have any interest in seeing Prince of Persia, I am kind of over
big special effects flicks. But the effect of Jake's chest might drag me to the
theatre tomorrow.

Just 42. Rest In Peace Gary!

Keeping Up with Nick Ayler

If you are a regular reader of FH you know that I am a big fan of model, actor and singer Nick Ayler. I try to keep up with Nicks work but that has been difficult lately as over the past several months Nick has been frantically busy putting all of his energy into continuing build and establish his career.

First up Nick has been been shooting new work with many of my favorite photographers. Hans Fahrmeyer, Michael A Downs, David Arnot as well as Richard Gerst and Rick Day who I have showcased below.

Besides being one of my favorite models, and one of the hottest, I wrote last month that other adjectives must be used when talking about Nick. Determined and focused would be at the top of that list. Nick has worked extremely hard to break into the business. Nick is at the gym 5 to 6 days a week for at least 3hrs. He also does not rely on his looks alone. Nick has worked hard to increase his skills in all areas that he pursues. Besides modelling, Nick is a talented musician, dancer and singer. Nick is also an actor and has several credits to his resume including working on 'Dear John' with Channing Tatum. Nick currently studies at the Stella Adler Acting Academy in NYC.

Equally serious about music, Nick has been a Deejay for close to 10 years now. Nick has a keen ear for music and rhythm. Nick has used these skills to produce two songs that he both wrote and sings on. You can listen to them both on Nick's Myspace Page HERE: I love both songs, but 'On The Dance Floor' is my favorite.

Nick tells me that because of his recent shoots, with Gerst and Day in particular, his exposure has been taken to a different level with offers coming in from Paris, Thailand, Rome, Australia, LA, Guam, and more. Nick is excited to see the end result of all his hard work this spring and summer. "I believe it will be my biggest season yet. I will be pursuing everything from TV Pilots, Commercials, Print work, Runway and much much more this coming season."

What is truly remarkable is that Nick has done so much of the work himself. Although Nick has tons of support, he has worked extremely hard to shape his career without the assistance of an agency or manager. Although Nick would be open to working with an agency or manager, they must have the same level of passion for success as he does. That could be a difficult task! You can see more photos and learn a bit more about Nick at his ModelMayhem page HERE:

Two Shots Above from Nick's first shoot with Rick Day.

Nick Ayler by Richard Gerst

Recently when I was profiling model and actor Chris Schram I talked about how Richard Gerst is able to bring out something in his subjects, something new that has not previously been seen. I described it this way:

'It is not just the physical strength on display, it is more emotional, more to one’s core. It is seen clearly in his eyes. Richard says that he captures images he himself want to see. I would also add his lens captures something inside his subjects that they are longing to express.'

Certainly this is the case in these great shots of Nick. Nick has always photographed as strong, as sexy, but there is something deeper in his work with Gerst. There is a beauty as well a sense of playfulness in some of the shots that really works well for Nick.

Nick Ayler by Rick Day

Nick Ayler
By Rick Day:

Here are the spectacular results of Nick's recent work with Rick Day. Bloggers and site owners literally plaster Day's work on every blog and site devoted to male models. This could create one to become complacent with Days exceptional skill level. Day always showcases a brilliant combination of strength and venerability in his work. I love the intensity and maturity shown by Nick in this shoot.
