A Motivating Force: Yohann Duval

I am sure when many people look at models and body builders it could be easy to assume they are looking at someone who has it all together. Great self esteem, popular, confident in who they are. Sometimes life's biggest success's however come out of pain. They say that what doesn't break you makes you stronger and that is certainly the case with model Yohann Duval.

Bullying is all over the news these days and Yohann is a great reason to truly say things can get better. Growing up in France, Yohann, who is French and Spanish, did not always feel so great about himself. As a boy he was not at ease with his body, and fitness and sports did not come naturally. As a result, Yohann was bullied a lot making for some painful years.

Yohann did not stay down for long. Putting his energy into building a better self image he began working out going from 130 pounds to 163 where he is today. Yohann began to feel better about himself and began working as a nude model for a painter for three years when in his early twenties.

'That actually helped me a lot overcoming my body issues. It might sound cliche but modeling for me is kind of a victory over the insecurities and issues i had as a teenager.'

13 years ago Yohann moved to Canada and currently resides in Montreal. He studied in Hotel Management but never actually worked in the field here. Yohann worked in retail and accounting for quite a few years and now is in the beauty industry. New to professional modeling, Yohann also loves photography and arts in general.

Thanks to Yohann for sharing with FH!

Model Search: Voting Begins!

The Applications are in, the judges have done their work and today voting begins in for Chris Teel & FH's Model Search 2011.

Voting Process:
-It was decided to use blogger poll voting. Voting will occur to the right of the blog. Voting begins today December 8th and completes January 1st at 12pm (EST).

-Vote as many times as Blogger will allow.

-Blogger polls run for 7 days so every Wednesday the totals will be recorded, a screenshot will be taken and the voting will begin from scratch once again. (this will allow for multiple voting).

-voters are not limited to voting for just one model but may place votes for multiple models if they wish.

-Voting will end on January 1st. Votes will be totaled and the winner will be chosen.

-Vote often, but vote fairly!

Voting: Chris Teel and Tye Briggs are determined to have a positive contest without drama. Watching past model competitions it has been difficult to watch the negativity that sometimes comes with the voting process. We expect passion and determination but if any model and/or their fans partake in excessive voting (blogger determines one vote per cycle), or bring a negative tone to the contest or other models we reserve the right to remove that model from the competition.

Good Luck!

Thumbs Down: The View

At the risk of sounding hypocritical, I have to give a big thumbs down to The View. If you read FH at all you know I have zero tolerance for cruelty and Kathy Griffin certain laces cruelty within her humour...but... The View, Elizabeth Hasselbeck in particular, are experts at holding a grudge and yesterday the show took it's opportunity to get back at Kathy for her last appearance on the show. Using your 'pulpit' to get back at guests who show you up in the form of a 'hot topic' is not very subtle. I await Kathy's rebuttal!
