Favorite Click Of The Day: 54: The Director's Cut

Despite it's flaws, I really loved 1998's 54. Ryan Phillippe's backside didn't hurt, but I loved diving into New York during Studio 54's heyday. The weak story line aside, there was something about Shane's journey that totally compelling.

Many of us have been eagerly awaiting the long awaited director's cut the net has been buzzing about for awhile. The new version includes over 30 minutes of footage from the original shoot and was screened in the Panorama section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival in February of this year. If, like me, you can't wait for the DVD/Blu-Ray release, you don't have to. iTunes now has the official director's cut available for download. I am sure lots of screen captures will be popping up shortly!

I saw it here in Austin about three weeks ago--it was only the third time it had been shown in this country. Neve Campbell is almost non-existent in this version (THANK GOD!). You definitely get to see much more of Shane's bisexual side.
