Eat, Drink & be Scary

'The reason I love Halloween is that unlike most holidays, Halloween is one you can make entirely your own. There are no pressures to decorate (which I do), or cook, (which I don't) there are no family meals or visits from the cousin you choose to avoid most of the rest of the year. There are no gifts to buy and there are not battles over whether the religious connection should or should not be in the play and you eat things you mostly try to avoid the rest of the year. Halloween is also the night you can dress as you would the rest of the year if only you could get away with it!'
Tye Briggs, FH (2012)

hope you enjoyed the past week's Halloween themed posts. I enjoyed researching and watching some of Wes Craven's films for the Constant Craven section. I have been fortunate to have so many incredible artists and models contribute to the blog, and appreciate all the support they gave when I bugged many of them for Halloween themed material for the site's annual celebration of All Hallows' Eve . If you missed any of the Halloween features, or want to check out some of scary & sexy posts from Halloween's past, check out all of my 100+ Halloween themed posts HERE:

The FH Costume Parade!

As I do every year, (see last years post HERE:) FH hosted it's annual Halloween and costume bash this past Saturday night. The party was a lavish affair filled with the hottest of Halloween Hunks. As you all know the party's motto is 'less is more' and as you can see, most of this years entries undressed for the occasion!

Wyatt got a little of tired of people wanting to unwrap him, but as the evening gave on he put his hands up and allowed judges to remove the ribbon from the package.

Given he was 'working' the party, Matthew was really permitted to enter, but his exits were so spectacular, I felt he needed a mention.

Many of you have seen Bernardo in and out of his police uniform before, but given how well he fills it out, no one was complaining.

Sam's black Calvin's hit a touch down with the judges

Alex's kitty was a hit, but he hissed and scratched when some tried to lick up his milk.

Todd's extravagant get up was an eye catcher and Todd swears his penis pod was built to size.

These Vampires were certainly a hot trio but they really put on a show sucking the poor pirate dry at the end of the night.

Painted superheroes have become common at Halloween, but this group of 5 had a special power which made them stand out.

No one could resist our trio of turtles and their impressively huge heads

Although Seth and friends debuted these looks in Madrid last New Years Eve, they were the nights clear winners.  Seth's strap kept his pouch in place, but it is still a mystery how his friends kept their penis plates from falling off.

Hatchet Job: DirtRoad by Noplacia Photography

'Help me! Help! Help, Mommy! Help! Help, Mommy! Mommy, help!'
Jason Voorhees

In general, I don't think axes and penises should be mixed too closely together. Too many things could go horribly wrong. Yet... the very first time I profiled the work of Seattle model DirtRoad, (To the Woodshed) he was also wielding an axe.

That's not to say all of Warren Russell's (DirtRoad) work has a sinister feel. When I first featured his work with photographer Gary Larson from Noplacia Photography this past August, Gary shot Warren hanging leisurely on some train tracks and in a beautiful field of yellow flowers. I love Gary's work with Warren and as soon as I saw these images a few months ago contacted Gary about using them on Halloween week.

I love the stark simplicity of Gary's set-up, an axe, a hockey mask, a black background and Warren. Warren is an exceptionally skilled model at adapting to whatever character, story or concept put in front of him. There are nuances within his work, especially in his work with Gary, that go beyond just admiring and enjoying his naked body.

Even without seeing his face, Warren's Jason Voorhees is not a monster but a tormented and intensely lonely character. The bare and empty surroundings Gary provided give Warren little to hang onto except his axe and his emotions. This Jason is not rewarded for his violent crimes, he is tormented. When he finally does removes his mask he turns his back to the camera, keeping his face hidden even when totally exposed.
