Gordon Nebeker: Piece of Work

'Oh what a piece of work is man.'

If you happen to be in the Fort Lauderdale area this week, you might want to drop by The Broward Art Guild Gallery. Starting tonight, photographer Gordon Nebeker will showing some of his recent works, along with some past favorites, in an Exhibition beginning March 20th, and running through March 25th.

Although I disagree with almost everything that comes out of the mouth of conservative political commentator radio host and author Buck Sexton's mouth, I find him, and his furry little friend, adorable just the same. Besides having a better porn name than anyone actually in the porn business, the former intelligence officer does make up for some of more extreme conservative views with the odd enjoyable, and witty, slam of La Trump.

Spring to Mind

Signs of Spring

'The front door to springtime is a photographer’s best friend.'

Bond by New Manhattan Studios

In addition to tulips and crocuses, one of the surest signs that spring has come is that less clothes are worn, and more skin is beautifully on display. With the 20th being the calendar's official start of the season, I thought it was time to pay the season it's due. It doesn't of course have to be spring for Bond, one FH's most popular subjects, to peel off his undies, but the start of the seasons certainly seems to makes it a more joyous event!

One of the things I, and exposed skin, love so much about the start of spring is the beautiful way the sun and air work together.  The combination of cool, crisp air  hitting the body, at the same time as the spring heat of the sun, is a sensuously invigorating sensation.  The feeling wakes up both skin and soul after a long dark winter.  In celebration of the new season, and the years bluest of sky's,  I went back into the archives to find some of my favorite images to illustrate the point, and the feeling.
