Six More?

'Really hoping Phil doesn't Punx things up this year!'

Punxsutawney Phil isn't the only animal that predicts whether they'll be six more weeks of spring.  Northeastern Connecticut uses a duck and Southeast Texas uses an alligator.  In Serbia, it's a bear,  in Japan  a catfish, in Germany a Frog and in Nova Scotia, it's Lucy the lobster.

In a tradition dating to the 1880s however,  it's ole Phil who pops up, (or is dragged out) on February 2nd.  If Phil sees his shadow, it's a sign winter will last six more weeks. If he doesn't, an early spring is on the way.  I'm not sure what Phil will see this year, but if we have six more weeks there's a way to make the most of it.  Here' six, (well nine) more visuals that prove six more weeks of winter can be a whole lot of fun!

'How much wood would a woodchuck suck if a woodchuck could suck wood?'

I've been visually celebrating the holidays with images of the male form almost since the site began.  It wasn't until 2019 however, that I first included Groundhog Day.  Groundhog Day isn't really a holiday,  nothing is closed, and there aren't any big Groundhog Day family meals, not that I know of anyway.  But... like Valentines and Halloween, it's a day to mark a specific day on the calendar.

Groundhog Day is said to have was influenced by the Christian holiday of Candlemas which takes place on February 2nd. The date commemorates Mary going to the temple, 40 days after the birth Jesus. Like other holidays, it's a celebration of light, and the length of sunlight expanding with the beginning of the end of winter.   This formed the connection with light and whether we see the Groundhog's shadow.

When I decided to feature Groundhog Day on the site, I first went to photographer Tom Nakielski.  We had the idea to incorporate a randy rodent, who was so excited for spring, he couldn't resist ripping the clothes off of model Michael. (HERE:)  Since then, Tom shot the manhandling Marmota monax with several other nervous male models.

It's no wonder why they were nervous... Posing fully naked with a mammal with 18 chewing teeth, and with shovel-like claws that can borrow down up to sixty feet comes with risks. Add to that, they've been dormant, hibernating since late October, you have one ravenous rodent.  Although Groundhogs are primarily herbivores, they do like an occasional munch of meat.

Despite the risks, Luke G was fearless when it came to posing with the horny hog.  Even with the risk of a little wood sucking from the woodchuck, Luke stripped down and got the job done.  Luke originally thought they might pose outside, and try to capture a little light and shadow, but after sleeping in hole outside the last few months, this wood sucking diva insisted on posing inside, in a warm studio.

Luke shares that inside shoot went well, and he was basically unscathed during the shooting process.  When I probed further, asking if there were any attempted sucking of wood or crevice burrowing, Luke choose to keep silent.  His only response was to quote his motto that whatever happens during a shoot, stays in the shoot.  I'll leave it to FH readers to decide how far our furry friend tried to go...

12 Days: Adrián González in Superstore, Groundhog Day

'Let me buy you dinner, and then I can answer all of your groundhog-related questions?'
Devon

When it comes to picking a movie or tv show for Groundhog Day, the pickings are slim.   I've already featured the iconic Groundhog Day, as well Groundhog Day: The Musical, and several other films with characters captured in a time loop.  This year I return to the same TV show I featured last year, with a different male hottie, the Groundhog Day episode from season 3 or Superstore.

Last year I featured actor Tom Parker, (HERE;) who is a guest star in the episode.  This year, it's actor Adrián González, who appears as Devon in the episodes opening scene.  Devon is an animal handler from 'Animals On The Go' who comes to the Cloud 9 superstore with a groundhog for children to check out on February 2nd.  Devon flirts with Amy, (America Ferrera) who becomes so anxious when Devon asks here out, she pushes over the rodents cage, causing him to fall out and slide across the room

From Here On OUT (2014)

Later we find out the Groundhog is still alive, probably... but the incident sends Amy in a tailspin.  Sadly, we don't see Devon again, but his brief appearance was enough to have me searching for more of Adrián.  The Texas born actor was attending Northwestern University, with the goal of becoming a doctor.  That all changed when the acting bug hit him and headed to Hollywood to follow his passion.

Sometimes when I research an actor, looking for some on-screen nudity credits, I come up empty.  That was certainly not the case with Adrián.  I believe his first butt baring scene was  as Rico, the sweet, but slutty pool boy, in the here TV gay sit-com, From Here On OUT.

Then, I hit the mother lode by discovering his turn as Rudy on the Starz drama Vida.  I'd never heard of Vida before, but thanks to clips from SOMS, I got a hot tutorial, and am now midway through the first season.  As you can see from the clip below, although Rudy is straight, he loves a little back end action in the boudoir.

🧧 Happy New Year! 🧧

I've always enjoyed visually celebrating holidays on FH, and have loved celebrating Lunar New Year the last five years. Lunar New Year is a festival that marks the start of the new year on the lunisolar calendar. It's celebrated in many Asian countries, including China, Vietnam, and Korea.

The holiday is also known as the Spring Festival in China, Tet in Vietnam, and Seollal in Korea.  Like most holidays, Lunar New Year involves celebrating with family, elaborate meals, parties, dancing and fire works.  It also involves gifts, primarily the red envelopes. The envelopes are gifts which symbolize both good fortune and prosperity.

I've been fortunate to have continued to have artistic and photographic prosperity when it comes to creating the site.  So many artists, models and creators have helped celebrate the male form on holidays, and all the days in-between.  Special thanks to Haruehun Airry for contributing a new series of uncensored imagery to mark the occasion.

Special thanks as always to TR Pics, who once again created some incredible, and original visuals, including this series with Ryan, to help celebrate the day.  Ryan dons his best festive attire, as well as slithering sidekick, to help celebrate the day, and the year of the snake.

Year of the Snake 🐍

The Snake the most tenacious of the 12 zodiac animals, so those born in the Year of the Snake are also believed to be particularly enigmatic and uncanny.  Come hither, come slither....' 🐍

As kids, most of us at one time or another were taken to a Chinese restaurant. If you hit the right one, it could be a magical experience. Many were decorated in vibrant colors, lanterns hanging from the ceiling, huge memorizing fish tanks. Best of all, there were those place mats.

For many of us, this was our introduction to Lunar New Year and the 12 signs of the Chinese Zodiac. Before even ordering your food, you scanned that place mat, looking for the year of your birth, hoping you were maybe a horse, a tiger, or a dragon. Most were not, which led to snickers from your brothers or friends about being a snake or a cock.

Snakes are sensitive, effective, and adaptable, positive personality traits often complemented by a considerable intelligence. They are usually amiable and even-tempered, showing a cool and calm exterior punctuated by occasional bouts of perfectly-timed energy and passion.

Snakes move elegantly through the social sphere, armed with their wide range of interests and hobbies, which add to their intrigue and mystery. They’re often artistic, which makes them taste-makers others look to for guidance.  Snake people are easy-going and fascinating for their mystery while also needing alone time to smooth their sensitivities. If they can learn to be vulnerable, Snake will find a new world opening to them.

Strengths:
Snakes are goal-oriented, and while they don’t often appear outwardly passionate, they’re blessed with a keen intuition and ample inspiration, making them very creative. Indeed, Snake may well choose a career in art because they make connections between subjects. They also possess excellent taste, glide among the elite with elegance, and can remain calm in the most stressful situations.

Weaknesses:
Snakes are emotionally detached, which can, at times, manifest as coldness or selfishness. Others distrust them, as they seem to be calculating and only concerned with their own welfare, and Snakes distrust others in return. With their romantic partners, Snakes may struggle to be vulnerable and will try to protect themselves with their usual detachment.

Love & Sex
Snakes are passionate and delicate in love, which may surprise their romantic interests. Over time, they’ll also grow into loyal marriage partners, even if their charm means Snakes will usually face many temptations throughout life. In return, Snakes demand the same loyalty from their partner and become suspicious.  Snake is a skillful master in the lovemaking realm. Nothing short of fabulous is this creature. The Snake has the ability to deliver and to bring out the best in their partner. Given their need for alone time, they are also skillful with self love, often finding unique and creative ways to self-pleasure.

Top-tier seduction alert.
Snakes are the masters of allure. Mysterious, smooth, and effortlessly charming, people born under the Snake sign have a natural ability to draw others in. They don’t even have to try – it’s like their aura just screams 'come hither.; Snakes are subtle with their seduction, keeping you on your toes and wanting more. They’re all about that slow burn, leaving you hooked without even realizing it. Sly, sneaky, and seriously sexy.

Thanks to the stunning Wesley and Tom from TR Pics for these original Lunar New Year visuals.
