J Kosmic: Centerpiece🍗

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
To all the Canadians celebrating this weekend!

In the United States, the second Monday of October is Columbus Day.  In Canada, the Second Monday in October is Thanksgiving Day.  Since I love celebrating holidays on the site, I always try to celebrate turkey day in the US, and to all the FH viewers in Canada as well.   Thanksgiving in Canada has no connection to pilgrims or stories about feasts from the 1600's.  In Canada, it's simply a day to celebrate a successful harvest and being grateful for the natural beauty🍂 and blessings of living in the Great White North. That second Monday always seems to come so quickly after the summer ends.

It came so quickly in fact, I'd almost forgotten until just a few days ago. Thankfully, Canadian Cosplay hottie J Kosmic had a holiday weekend, and created this series of tasty shots to help celebrate the day. J puts on quite the spread with his hot table scape. Anyone want to join J for a bite to eat?

'My original intent was to shoot in the leaves but since it snowed this was my backup. I wanted to wait until I had a pump too. I didn't have a center piece so I decided to be the centerpiece... or the meal. The sign was something I thrifted which is something I do for a lot of my cosplays that aren't the spandex suits. I repurpose a lot of items and everything I've bought has had a use. Nothing has been redonated or gone to waste.  This also motivated me to clean the kitchen' 😅

Hay There...

'It's haymaking season!'

One of the smells I associate so closely with Thanksgiving and with Autumn is the smell of hay.  Although some farmers bale their hay in the late spring or during the summer, the common time is during the early fall.  For most, it's the last time to ensure you have enough for the winter.  The tasty Fortvna looks pretty scrumptious bared and baled out in the field.  Check out more studs with their haystacks on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

12 Days: Eric Aragon in Pumpkin Pie Wars

Ten years ago, Faye and Lydia each opened their own bakeries in Emeryville, Ohio after a personal and professional fall-out during a local Pumpkin Pie contest. Now their children--and co-workers--Casey and Sam, are set to carry on the rivalry as they go head-to-head in the same contest.

Every Thanksgiving, it's gets more difficult to find movies to featured in my holiday 12 Days post.  I've featured almost every Thanksgiving theme film that I know of, from Hallmark films, to classics, comedies and Thanksgiving themed horror flicks.  Finally, after an exhaustive search, I found a Hallmark, Thanksgiving adjacent themed film, I hadn't featured before.

It a pumpkin pie baking competition that inspired the 2016 Hallmark film Pumpkin Pie Wars.  The films romantic leads were played by actors Julie Gonzalo and Eric Aragon.  Now, admittedly, neither Gonzalo or Aragon are Canadian, but since the movie was filmed in British Columbia, (Langley, Abbotsford, Richman and Maple Ridge) I decided it counts!

The sexy and talented actor has had a long career in film and on television.   Some, might remember the actor from the 2012 gay themed film, The Perfect Wedding.  Others might remember him as the studly Enrique on the short lived Comedy Central sit-com, I Lived With Models.

The Perfect Wedding

I think it was The Perfect Wedding that introduced me to Aragon, although I also remember seeing him on television including his guest appearance on shows including Drop Dead Diva and Russian Doll.  Recently, I've also caught Aragon in a few Hallmark holiday movies for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I Live With Models

The Spectacular Summer of Weredog and Amy

Although Aragon has had plenty of shirtless scenes, and showed a wee bit of skin on I Live With Models, I think he had his biggest skin exposure in the short film The Spectacular Summer of Weredog and Amy.  Written and directed by Sylvia Batey Alcalá, in the 2018 film, Aragon plays a dog, and actual dog who come to life. The pup belongs to a recently-divorced woman who discovers that her new dog is a reverse werewolf. Every full moon, the dog turns into a  man.

Like all good wolf to man, or in this case dog to man, transitions on film, the hot is naked during the transition.  Aragon looks amazing, especially his incredibly hot behind.  If you want to watch the short film yourself, it's available to view on Vimeo HERE:

Canadian Colours: An Autumnal Palette

Kyle Hynick

'I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.'
L.M. Montgomery

Patrick Leblanc

There's an old joke that Canadian summers span an average of two weeks, the last two in July.  Although climate change has certainly impacted the heat and weather in the great white north, October remains the month with some of the most dramatic weather changes.  It's not uncommon in Canada to an October's that begin with a heat wave, and then ends with a blizzard.

Thierry Pepin

October is also peak color season for autumnal changes.  It's incredibly dramatic, especially in the East. It makes perfect sense then, that the countries Thanksgiving Holiday falls near the middle of the most colorful month of the year.  In the Maritime Provinces, there are actually tours to see the changing colors of the fall leaves.

Buses, and especially cruise ships are frequently coming in and out with tourists, most notably rom America, Europe and Asia, to see the fall colors.  Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables is so popular in Japan in fact, tourists from the country flock to Prince Edward Island each Autumn.

Given how harsh the winters can be, shooting the nude male form, especially outside, is often restricted to just a few months a year.  That doesn't mean that some models and  photographers don't risk the frigid temperatures for a great shot, but most of the Canadian artists I feature frequently, (Chris Teel, Immortal Form) do most of their shooting in the warmth of a studio. Some photographers and models however, do venture out to utilize the color Autumn palette as a glorious backdrop.  I've had the pleasure of featuring many Autumn and winter shoots shot in Canada over the years.  These, are some of my favorites.

Joshua David

Although model Joshua David, (bun_adventure) isn't from Canada, he took a series of self-portraits for FH while on Mont Sutton while visiting Quebec.  You can see more of Joshua's images from his trip, which also include images taken on Lake Champlain in Vermont HERE:

Tasty Smut

I love the work of Canadian photographer Tasty Smut.  The Vancouver based artist shoots almost exclusively outside taking his provinces incredible views.  Although the winter's aren't as harsh on the West Coast, the temperatures can still get pretty chilly during the Autumn and Winter months.  See more from this Autumn themed shoot on FH HERE:

Briancan Photography

One of my favorite chroniclers of the male form, and of Canada's incredible views is Brian from Briancanphotography.  Brian has generously shared many of his shoots, both in studio, and outside during all four of the seasons.  These images are all from pieces on the site featuring models and the Ontario based photographer's autumnal artistry.
