The Bottom Line

Riverdale Raves

This post was almost titled Riverdale Rants, but a couple of just announced casting decisions have tipped the scales more towards the positive. I loved Riverdale when it premiered earlier this year. A compelling teen drama kicked off with the mystery surrounding the death of a hot redheaded football player. The show's first half was about the relationships between the core characters from the comics. Archie, Jughead, Betty, Veronica, Cheryl and Kevin.

Although we saw Reggie, Moose, Midge and those Pussy Cats, they were mostly glorified extras, used to further story of the main cast. By the second half of the season, things began to change. The focus on character and relationships was lessened in favor of plot twists and darker themes. Although I loved the dark themes, they were done at the expense of some of the elements that had me loving the show in the beginning. As a fan of Kevin (Casey Cott) it was frustrating how inconsistent the writing was. One week, he was a part of the 'gang', the next, just a side character to push exposition by popping in for a few seconds with one line.

Melton with Evan Peters on AMS: Hotel

Reggie was also rarely seen in the second half of the season, mainly because Ross Butler, the actor who played him, was busy juggling other TV projects, one being his role in the popular new show 13 Reasons Why. This week, it was announced that actor Charles Melton was replacing Butler in the role. I first noticed (and posted about) Melton after his memorable nude, and very bloody turn on American Horror Hotel. (A Business Travelers End)

Charles is a beautiful guy and has appeared nude both on screen, and during his time as a model. I am glad they recast the role as although Reggie wasn't seen much in season 1, the teen cast needs to be expanded as the relationships between the main four are already starting to get a bit overplayed and tired.  They have already had pretty much all four of them crush over the other, the notable exception being Veronica and Jughead, but rest assured, that will be coming....

Kevin and Veronica in the first few episodes, relationships that were pretty much ignored after Betty and Veronica were hooked romantically to Jughead and Archie. It would also be nice to see Rob Raco ( Joaquin) pop back in for an episode or two, he and Kevin had a certain heat, especially those first scenes at the drive in.

Another View: Alex Corso by Gordon Nebeker

I am sure some of you recognized the beautiful behind washing the orange BMW in today's pic of the day. Alex Corso is one of my favorite models to cover, (and uncover) and have featured his talents, both in front of and behind the camera, as often as I a able over the last few years. What makes this set of images unique however, is not just how incredibly hot Alex looks washing that car, it is also the artist on the other side of the lens.

The in the 20+ stores featuring Alex's work, each and every image was shot of Alex that I have posted wer taken by Wes from New Manhattan Studios. It was Wes who first introduced me to Alex back in 2012 with their work at Sunset Meadow. I instantly fell in love with Alex's beautiful silky skin, incredible body and sensuously enticing lips and eyes.

It has been a pleasure to not only feature Alex's work, but follow his transition at NMS from model, to assistant, stylist, and now photographer. Alex is the only person I have profiled in the last 10 years who has been featured modeling nude, assisting other models posing nude, (including his brother) and contributed images to stories featuring nude models being shot by NMS. It was that erotic triple header which makes Alex the perfect model to feature today.

Whenever I do a Quaternate post, I try to find new images to include. While I was putting together my Quaternate post featuring the work of Gordon Nebeker, I saw one of the shots from the car wash shoot that Alex had posted on Facebook. When I got in touch about using the shot, Alex sent back a wide selection of shots from his recent shoot with Gordon. I also included a shot (first one in this piece) from their shoot a few years back which Gordon says is one of his most popular and best known butt shots of Alex. Check out more of Alex's work on FH HERE: & check out Gordon's many appearances in the post below.

Quaternate: Gordon Nebeker

When I began FH in 2007 I didn't have a Facebook, I didn't have a Twitter account and Instgram wasn't around yet. My main source of 'networking' for the site was through some Yahoo photographers groups I had joined, and if the photographer or model had a site, through their contact page. I quickly learned that Model Mayhem was the place to be. Most of the models and artists that I was profiling used their Model Mayhem page as their main link. The site soon became the place I visited a few times a week to search for images and artists that inspired.

I scrolled through portfolios with intent, excited that to have such an incredible catalogue of work to enjoy. In those early years I didn't have a Model Mayhem account, so if the person I wanted to contact didn't have an e-mail listed, it was difficult to connect with them. One of those photographers was Gordon Nebeker. As many images and portfolios as I looked at, it was rare that one sparked not only my enthusiasm, but a passion and drive to investigate the artist. The image below of Ajuna had me on the hunt to find a way to get in touch with Gordon.

The image was, and remains one of my all time favorite capture of the male form.  I loved the classic pose, the way Gordon cascaded Ajuna's face and body with illumination.  I love images with jeans pulled down, but not off and Ajuna's jeans beautifully uncovered his spectacular butt.  I also loved how even with the back pose, Gordon captured one of Ajuna's beautifully expressive eyes.

After a few months of looking for a contact for Gordon without success I was about to give up.  That was until, a model that I was featuring sent his favorite shots for the piece I was working on, including a selection from Gordon.  I quickly obtained Gordon's e-mail, and the rest as they say, is visual history.  As you can see from the extensive list of features below, I love Gordon's work, and thankfully, Gordon is willing to share.  Gordon is one of FH's most featured artists and has shot behind the scene material, not to mention a few Christmas goodies, exclusively for FH.   I can't begin to thank Gordon for all his assistance, contributions and support.  I can only hope FH has given back to him even a fraction of the inspiration and enjoyment his work has given myself and FH readers.
