Just Because:

We live in a country where violence is often not only accepted but glorified. Our tv screens nightly are filled with rapes, murders and the easiest part to get on tv these days must be that of a coroner. Our top box office draws are usually action/violence filled and Rambo is a national hero. Yet...a little Janet Jackson nipple gets us all in a tizzy... Scary Shit that is to me...

I hate violence of any kind. I am one of those stupid people who tries to whisk flies and bees out the front door instead of killing them. Sorry Peta, but I swat mosquito's at will. I try to save the rodents my cat brings in (And if I don't my dogs will finish them off....)

That being said....

Violence comes in many forms, physical violence being just one of them.

I cannot think of anything more violent than:

-Yanking a frightened celebrity out of the closet (and anyone who has lived in the closet knows it can be a scary place).

-What is more violent that putting penis drawings around the faces of young teenage Female pop stars...

-Posting private pictures and humiliating a man who has done so much for the gay community, and who earlier this year touched so many lives.

-Posting vagina shots of any female star who is not as careful as she could be getting out of a car. (yeah yeah I know some may seek this attention, but many do not).

-Tearing down any celebrity going through a hard time.

Exploiting, hating, bitching, cutting down and basically terrorizing others with the swipe of a keyboard.

That to me is real violence.

Just go ahead and say it, "He deserved to be assaulted." You should be ashamed of yourself! And quit defending Dustin lance Black. he painted himself into that corner by espousing safe sex practices. We MUST hold those in our community accountable. Perez has NEVER claimed to be pure and clean and better than anyone else...and even if he did, physical violence is NOT the answer no matter what. Adults can handle these situations better than glorified and over-rated musical acts and their handlers. Black-eyed Peas...more like Black-eyed Shits.

He certainly did not deserve to be hit. But he certainly was partly responsible for how the incident played out.

He played a role, a large one in the way things went down. I do not loath Perez because of his sexuality, it is non issue. I loath him for his hate.

I will continue to support DLB. Again, not because of his sexuality but because of the good he has done. He did something in private, it is horrible to me this was explointed, mistake or not, by others, including Hilton.

All I know is if I yell "f**g*t" to a grown ass angry man outside a club (like perez did to will.i.am) I know i better get ready to fight. He thinks he can hurl insults and hurtful words without getting hurt? Think again. Welcome to the real world Perez.

Tye, I like you and your blog (and I appreciate you allowing your readers to share their views) and I don't intend to drag this out but...

Perez confronted no one at the MuchMusic Awards. He was confronted face to face by thin-skinned WillIAm and was yelled at while WIA demanded to be respected. WIA must not understand the rules for respect. Perez stood up for himself and was not going to back down and cower away. Calling WillIAm a faggot was not the smartest decision he could have made in that moment but a gay guy calling another gay guy a faggot did not deserve him to be attacked.

I am thankful that other celebrities are not as thin-skinned when it comes to things such as gossip -- no matter how mean and funny it is.

Based upon your statement that "he certainly was partly responsible for how the incident played out", the question begs to be asked: If a woman dresses provocatively and flirts with a man, is she asking to be raped? Defense attorneys have used this argument time and time again and everytime they do, it repulses me.

P.S. I apologize for using the Anonymous tag in my earlier response, I didn't notice the Name option.

Hey Bobby!

I think we will have to agree to disagree.

I do not think a woman dressing provocatively and rape is a fair comparrison. The woman is not setting out to hurt another.

I simply destest cruelty of any kind. Hilton's whole blog is based on being cruel to others.

I do think if anyone's main way of being is slamming others, then they are in in part responsible for the reactions of others. Not everyone deals with being treated badly in a mature manner.

He should not have been hit. I do not think punching another in anger is in anyway the right way to deal with a situation, but I think Hilton's bruises will heal far quicker than the damage he has inflicted on others in the public spotlight.

What he has done to others has left far more long lasting damage than his cuts and bruises.

Children whose parents have lashed out at the physically on ocassion get over this far quicker than kids whose parents degrade them and demean them with words over time.

Cruelty is cruelty.
