Chilled to the Bone...Yard: Michael Moody by Lights On Studio

'Next, it was time to experience that cold for real.'

Photographer Tom Nakielski (Lights On Studio) had previously scoped out the cemetery, picking out locations he thought would be perfect for his session with model Michael Moody..  The locations structures, and carved stoned buildings made a gothic winter wonderland.  Tom had his fingers crossed that there would be snow on the ground on the day of the shoot and as you can see, karma was on his side.

'We headed out to the cemetery and once again we went straight to work. Michael immediately was working with the environment and showing me some poses. He was patient as I set up a speed light to enhance the images.'

'Did I mention how cold it was? It was cold, but Michael never complained. I did enough complaining about the cold to compensate for the two of us. Amazingly we managed to get both some studio shots and the location shots at the cemetery in an hours time.'

Michael may not have complained, but he certainly had reason to.  Normally, one wears long john's to keep warm.  Most of us purchase a pair of Stansfield's, or another brand made from heavy cotton or wool.  Michael wasn't so lucky...  The pair Tom provided wouldn't exactly protect one's privates from a slight breeze, let along a strong December gust of wind...   Michael was a real trooper, all for the sake of art!  At least he had his winter hat and heavy military coat to keep him warm from the waist up!

As fate would have, while Tom was re-editing this older shoot, he actually heard from Michael about planning a possible new shoot.  Michael was traveling in the aria and as I write this, I hear both photographer and model were planning something new and creative to capture.  I'll keep you updated, and hope to feature the results in the near future.
