'For all you know... a witch might be living next door to you.'
The Witches, (1990)
Most of us had one.... If you grew up in almost any neighbourhood there was a witch. A least someone that as children, we feared could be. It was usually a woman, but occasionally a man, that solitary widow or old maid, who was always ill tempered and always seemed at odds with their neighbours.
More than anything, they hated children, although you rarely saw them, except out occasionally to tend their garden, you could hear them. You could hear the mutters and complaints about the neighbourhood kids who were loud, who trespassed on their property, who raided their garden or made fun of their haggard appearance, hunched back or crooked nose.
If you weren't already convinced they were a spell caster, there was one sign you couldn't ignore. On those late Autumn nights, when you ran by there un-kept and run down old house, anxious to get home before curfew, they were always there.... That grotesque shadow at he side of the upstairs corner window. That haunting outline of their dark face looking down over the the street. It was always there, no matter what day it was, no matter what time of night, or what time of year. The witch watched down and caught you running by.....every single time.
Now there's a history between witches and windows, a history most in the North East are aware of. Witches usually don't like to be seen, especially through the harsh light of the sun through their window. Usually, the blinds or dark curtains are drawn, at least throughout the day. At night however, their open, for the moonlight and darkness to flow in.
There is such a thing as a witch window, but it's not the windows within the witches domain. Witch windows are in the upstairs room of the fearful and the frightened. Also known as coffin windows, the name comes form the superstition that witches cannot fly their broomsticks through tilted or slanted windows. Sadly these tilted panes of glass never really helped because as well know, where's there's a witch...there's a way.
Now, most of us wouldn't mind if a witch next door if they looked like Ethan. Especially, given his penchant for whipping off his wardrobe, except of course, for his hat and cape and performing his witchery and magic in front of that upstairs window. As you can see, Ethan's a witch who see's his body as his temple, and always wants to be broomstick ready whenever he's called into action. It certainly looks like Ethan's legs and thighs could wrap tightly around that stick for hours....
'Ethan blew my mind. He is so graceful and his body is beyond amazing. We captured so many fantastic shots, they are pure art. Ethan's actually more of a quiet and humble witch, maybe something you may not initially assume given how incredibly dynamic and powerful he becomes in front of the camera.'
