The first thing I noticed about the friendly orderly was his look. A fascinating mix of both ethereal and evil, it was clear from his first scene the character would make an impact. Actor Jamie Campbell Bower is perfect in the role, and I was instantly drawn to his character and his relationship with Eleven.
With his lean body and facial structure, it wasn't a surprise when Googling the actor to discover he was also a model. The English actor and singer made his film debut along side Johnny Depp in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. He followed the film up with appearances in The Twilight Saga, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, He also appeared as the young Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
In addition to Stranger Things, Campbell Bower also appeared on several English historical dramas, two of which included brief butt baring scenes. In Camelot, the actor played King Arthur, a carefree young man until learning he is the only male heir to the thrown. The Irish-Canadian co-production is based on the Arthurian legend, and also featured actors Joseph Fiennes and Eva Green.
'London,1589, when theatre was like rock'n'roll and a young man with a dream changed the world with his words.'
The actor also appeared in Will, a drama series about the (fictional) life of William Shakespeare in his early 20s. In the TNT's shows first and only season, Campbell Bower played Christopher Marlowe, an Elizabethan poet and William Shakespeare's most important predecessor in English drama.
