Happy Birthday today August 14th to:

I have loved actor Christopher Gorman (shown here in Covert Affairs) since his days on Popular. Christopher turns 37 today.

And Just Because...isn't it a bit scary that Cindy Brady, Susan Olsen, is turning 50 today! Whose next Rudy Huxtable?

Kiss Of The Spider Woman Soundtrack

Vanessa Williams really is a far more talented singer and actress than she gets credit for. As dynamic and hilarious as she was on Ugly Betty (I can't really speak for her role on Desperate Housewives) she has an impressive stage resume which include some of my favorite shows.

Although the Chita Rivera version might be remembered more affectionately, as far as the soundtrack go, my money's on the 1994 version featuring Williams, Howard McGillin and Brian Mitchell. Williams might not have the biggest voice, but like with her turn singing pop, she has a beautiful clear voice with a unique tone that gives her songs a depth I did not hear before. She may not have Rivera's dramatic flare but this is a soundtrack, not a live show and I much prefer Williams. McGillin is great, especially powerful and painful on 'She's A Woman'. Mitchell hits it out of the park with powerhouse vocals at every turn but his version of 'Marta' is incredible.

Obviously someone else saw the magic in the cast replacements as it is rare for a show to re-release a soundtrack with the replacement cast just 2 years after the release of the original. I remember listening to KOTSP on old school heavy discman in 1994 when I was in University. That cd went missing years ago but I recently bought another version on Amazon and am enjoying it even more now.

On Your Mark! Nicholas by Carl Proctor

21 year old Nicholas Cooper is a pre-med major but loves the modeling world and uses modeling to help him step out of his comfort zone. Nicholas loves anything active and has a passion for rock climbing, kayaking, basically any and all sports.

With this in mind, photographer Carl Proctor wisely chose to focus on the physical in his work with Nicholas. Like a fish to water, Nicholas looks like a natural in the swimmer themed shots.

I love showcasing Carl's work, not only are the models and the shots exceptional, Carl retains an energy and excitement about his work that is contagious. My previous feature on Carl's work with Benjamin Godfre certainly spread like an epidemic of pleasure.

'Demonstrating a no non-nonsense approach, we shot nonstop for a good five hours. Nicholas is single and focusing on his classwork and career. As much fun as he was to work with, he remained cool, calm and professional and the results are proof positive.'

Nicholas has a killer grin, in both head shots and fitness work, he is a natural in front of the camera. Speaking of natural it always great to see a model not manscaped to death with his body and facial hair only enhancing his incredible look.
