Lie Detector

Going by the shot above, Pinocchio sadly seems to be telling the truth.  This is one instance, I'd certainly support a lie or two. 

Thespian Toros

Thanks to reruns, streaming and DVD's, I've been fortunate to have gone back and watched many shows created by the great Norman Lear.  I'm currently working my way through Maude, and although I love Bea Arthur, she is the queen of reaction, Maude seems to have an equal amount of clunker episodes as  are there are great ones. 

One Lear show that I haven't been able to get into is the original One Day At A Time.  I enjoyed the reboot, but have yet to watch more than an episode or two of the original version.  I will give it another shot, but there's just not that break out character or star like many of Lear's other shows. 

I am however familiar with the show and the cast, and recently was intrigued when seeing a post by actor Glenn Scarpelli on Instagram.  I was looking for info on the upcoming Kristen Wiig series Palm Royale, when I noticed Scarpelli had commented on a post actress Mindy Cohn had posted about her appearance in the upcoming series.  

This led me to spend some time on Scarpelli's Instagram page, which included several shots from his teen magazine shirtless pin-up days.  It also featured some recent shots of the actor, who for me, is looking hotter than ever.  Although Scarpelli still acts now and then, according to his Instagram page, his main career focus these days is as a television station owner in Arizona.

'Up to snow good!'

No, winter's not over, but we are on the tail end, heading quickly down to the bottom of the hill.  Where I live, late February is usually the best time for skiing.  The days are warming up, sunny and great for hitting the slopes.  The nights are still cold enough to freeze any snow that falls during the days and evenings.

Of course going skiing, like most physical activities, is better with a buddy or two, so I thought I'd share some of my favorite winter moon shots on from the hill.  These are certainly a collection of hills and valley's we'd all love to take a ride down.

'Make waves and turn heads.'

Growing up in the 1980's, I wore a speedo as a kid.  I took swim lessons, and everyone wore a speedo in the pool.  It wasn't until I was about 9 or 10, when most guys switched to board or swim shorts, unless you were swimming or diving competitively.  

I thought nothing of running around the pool or beach in a speedo when I was a kid.  I can see why they might be uncomfortable for teenagers, when bodies are changing and growing.  Today, I only wear them to very specific places, at most public beaches, people think you're a nut, wearing a speedo in public.

It's too bad, part of the fun of beaches is people and body watching, and speedos cut a lot of the red tape out of that.  You don't have to wonder about certain things, when the wet material is clinging so closely to the skin.

I know FH is usually about the speedo coming off, I enjoyed searching for shots of swim teams over the years. I  think the earliest group in this set is from the 50's, and the images span the decades to the present.  Although many swim teams still require their swimmers to wear speedos, many now also offer a choice.  

It's fun seeing who's totally comfortable in their speedos, and who decides it's best cover their bulges with their hands int he group photos.  The first row of swimmers, especially in the more recent shots, often cover their junk, which makes me think the coach or photographer requested it.
