Jerry O'Connell got his start in Hollywood when he was just 12 year old. The young actor was cast as one of the four leads in 1986's Stand By Me. The film, directed by Rob Reiner, became a huge hit, and was the project of us many of us were first introduced to O'Connell.
After a few appearances guesting on television shows, O'Connell's next big break came after being cast on the Canadian based action comedy, My Secret Identity. O'Connell was 16 when the series began, and 19 when the last episode was filmed.
After the series was cancelled, O'Connell joined another series, this time, the sort lived Camp Wilder in the early 90's. O'Connell returned to mostly making films after the series with turns roles in; Calendar Girls, Jerry Maguire and of course Scream 2.
O'Connell then returned to television for four seasons in the fantasy series Sliders. Now in his early 20's, O'Connell was frequently shirtless in Sliders, often times, tied up and in trouble. It was after the series ended, that O'Connell starred in a series of comedies which featured most of his on-screen skinning.
Sliders
It was during the late 90's and early 2000's that O'Connell starred in the movies; Body Shots, Tomcats and Buying the Cow. O'Connell continued to work steadily through the 2000's, and got his next series role on Crossing Jordan from 2002-2007. Although he continued work regularly, mostly on television, by 2010, O'Connell seemed to then become more famous for his roles as a host and television personality than for his acting roles.
