A Look Back: Gareth Williams in The Shield
The Road to Justice is Twisted...
I have to admit, I was never a fan of The Shield. It wasn't that I didn't like it, I just never got around to watching it. I didn't know however, the crime drama featured the odd scene featuring the nude male form... The was until, I recently came across the gif below.
The hottie shacking his hot backside is actor Gareth Williams, who played Walton Burke on six episodes of the show. This ass shimmy is from the 2004 episode Streaks and Tips. Although we didn't see Gareth's tip, we did get a great look at bottom. The actor, writer and director has been working steadily since the early 1990's.
Although I didn't initially recognize him, when I check out his IMDB page, I was reminded of how many roles I'd previously seen him in. Although Williams has guest starred on almost every hour long drama over the past three decades, I think I remember him most from his turns on Mindhunter, as well as playing Joey's dad on Dawson's Creek. He's certainly giving off DILF in this scene...
Quaternate: Immortal Form
Oh Canada! It was back in the spring of 2019 that I first contacted Dave from Immortal Form. I'd been following his work for awhile and the timing was perfect to reach out. Every July 1st, on Canada Day, I like to spotlight Canadian photographers, models and actors, and had seen some of Dave's shots of Matt with the Canadian flag tightly wrapped around his equally tight body.
As you can see, Dave supported my using his flag images, and I've been enjoying featuring his work since. In addition to Canada's flag, Dave has also captured the countries favorite pass time. On a side not, If you missed the US vs Canada game on Thursday night, you missed one of the best, and most nerve wracking three periods hockey, (and Overtime) that I've seen in years!
In addition to his themes, and the variety of incredible models he shoots, I also loved the way Dave includes a flash of drama and glamour. Some of the images I was drawn to as a kid were those glamour shots of Hollywood actors. Dave oven uses vibrant reds, blues and purples luminating in the background, beautifully highlighting and cascading over the model in the foreground. All Business: Blakely by Immortal Form
'We played around especially at the start with the business look. I think he looks fantastic with the business shirt on.'
Whenever I'm featuring a shoot, especially when it's spotlighting a model who's appearing on FH for the first time, I like to introduce them readers. I do this by ensuring the first shots readers see are portraits or fashion shots. The idea, is to introduce viewers to a human being. A man, not just a series of shots of an anonymous nude body. Although I know many scroll quickly past the clothed shots to get to the naked, I hope by the time they get there, they've learned a little bit about the artist and model that they're seeing and enjoying.
When Dave from Immortal Form sent on his work with model Blakely David, I barely noticed the naked. Don't get me wrong, Blakely has an amazing physique, a body he's clearly put in the time and hard work to obtain and perfect. I was however, so drawn to the shots of Blakely in his white dress shirt and tight black jeans, that I it took awhile for me to scroll down to the rest of the images. Anyone who works out, knows the goal isn't just to look great naked, it's also to look great in clothes, and Blakely looks incredibly hot in his.
Blakely's goal is to become a profession model, so Dave tried to get a series of shots that he could use for his modeling portfolio. This meant shooting an assortment of fashion and physique looks to ensure Blakely looked his best both in and out of his clothes. Dave really enjoyed his time creating with Blakely, and hopes other photographers, especially in the Ottawa area, get the chance to collaborate with him. Dave and Blakely are already planning a second shoot, as soon as time allows.
'We had a lot of fun ! Blakely is laid back and very easy and fun to work with. Also enthusiastic. He's up for just about anything and even suggested ideas for future shoots. A lot of the poses in this shoot were his ideas actually. '
Blakely's journey to modeling actually began after watching season one of America's Top Model. He shares that after seeing Elyse Sewell compete, he became very motivated to being a part of creating beautiful images. Although modeling completely nude definitely wasn't initially part of the plan, Blakely is very comfortable with his body and enjoys showing it off. When Blakely did his first shoot with photographer Vincent Six however, he was inspired to shoot fully nude.
'I’m always looking for shots that show my versatility. As I grow my brand I’ve been given more and more opportunities to explore different sides of myself. This shoot with Dave was about getting some good portfolio options to bring to an agent
Dave was super easy to work with and allowed me to move fairly freely with some minor tweaks. It was organic and smooth We got some fantastic shots and I’m really proud of the hard work I’ve done on my body to get there. I love that Dave is a big nerd like me and the conversation was always fun and professional.'
