Troublesome Thespians

There's nothing like an award show to spotlight troublesome thespians.   One only need to look back a couple of years to Will Smith and his slapping of host Chris Rock.  Although the Oscar's and controversy go hand in hand, there are just some actors, even previous award show darlings, that you just can't see holding that gold statue any time soon.
 

Can you imagine the press if Ezra Miller or Armie Hammer were nominated this year.  Will Mel Gibson or Kevin Spacey ever be welcomed on the red carpet again?  I'm not sure, but my gut tells me both would be there in their tuxes if they could be.

There are so many celebrities with troublesome lives and problematic pasts.  Even still working actors like Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp have never won an Oscar, although both have been nominated.  Scientology may roll out the red carpet for Cruise, but Academy voters thus far have not.

Show Business has always gone hand in hand with controversy,  going way back to the beginning.  I can't even count the number of classic movie stars involved with the law.  Erroll Flynn was charged with statutory rape, and intoxicated Robert Mitchum assaulted a female reporter.  That doesn't even being to speak of shit involving producers and studios.  I think 2003 was one of the oddest Oscars between hailing Harvey Weinstein at the height of his success, Michael Moore being booed on stage, and Roman Polanski being nominated for best director.

This Oscar weekend, I thought I'd take a look at one problematic hottie whose checkered past became an issue a few years ago.  Actor Alain Delon (below) has one of cinema's most beautiful faces and bodies, and has been nominated for several César Awards. (France's Oscar) When however, the Cannes Film Festival decided to award an honorary Palme d'Or to the veteran French actor, it did not go over very well.  Find out more, and check out three of Delon's most famous nude scenes, on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

Robert De Niro in 1900

'The epic tale of a class struggle in twentieth-century Italy as seen through the eyes of two childhood friends on opposing sides.'

Actor Robert De Niro is known for his acting skills more than his sex appeal, but the young De Niro certainly had a quality I find really hot.  Although he's shown his butt in a couple of films, his full frontal scene with Gérard Depardieu in 1976's 1990 is a classic. 

Although I'd seen images and the clip a few times in the past, it wasn't until this year, I really watched the film and got the scene in it's full context.  Although Depardieu was no stranger when it comes to nude scenes, up until this film, De Niro hadn't really shown much on screen.

1990 is an Italian film, and I'm guessing one of the reasons De Niro agreed to the full frontal nudity was because of director Bernardo Bertolucci.   Beyond just having two actors nude together on scene, there's one moment in the scene where Neve, (Stefania Casini) the female in the threesome, puts De Niro's hand on Depardieu's penis.  No every mainstream actor would be up for that, in the 1970's, or even today.
