What a way to jump into a new career...
When actress Rue McClanahan was co-starring on Mama's Family, she got very sick and was hospitalized. In an effort to cheer her up, Vicki Lawrence, (Mama) sent Rue a stripper. It turns out it was the kid's very first gig. Rue wrote about the hospital visit from the stripper in her memoir, and the image above, from an estate sale, is the only visual of the event.
When I read about Rue's stripping visitor, it reminded me of a piece I'd done last year. (HERE:) It focused on an episode of The Facts of Life, and the Chippendale strippers the show hired to play dancers on the show. After doing that story, I began looking for other sit-com episodes featuring male strippers or with characters visiting male strip clubs.
I decided it was time to finally finish the post after reading the story about Rue. Check out the many strippers, and the stripper themed episodes from sit-coms, featuring over a dozen shows from the 1980's through the 2010's on FH HERE: & HERE:

Sadly, the stripper in the first image died in an automobile accident in Western Canada in 2015. His name was Daniel, and I knew him from my many visits to Montreal and he also danced in NYC. He was even better looking in person.
Thanks for the info, very sad to hear. I'll have to look for more on him, do you happen to know a last name?
