Another...

Another Clown in a Cornfield...

Hitting the Right Chord ♫

If you're a long time reader of FH, you know I was a big fan of Glee, especially the first two seasons.  I posted about the show, and my favorites, (Harry Shum Jr. and Chord Overstreet) many times on the site.  But... by season 3 I sort of grew tired and lost interest.  That tends to happen with Ryan Murphy shows, they start off incredible, then go downhill.

By season 3, most of my favorite characters, (Mike, Mercedes, Tina, Quinn and Sam) were moved to the background while some of the most annoying characters, (Rachel and Kurt) were always front and center belting away.  The stories became less balanced and silly and by the time the show sputtered out, I'd stopped watching completely.

That's why I met news of the new reboot with more hesitation than excitement.  The show is shrouded with complications, from cast deaths, to rumors of horrible cast behavior and relationships.  I know not all of the cast look back fondly on their time on the show.  Still, if done properly it could work.  One of the reasons so many loved and watched the show was the music.  With the right story, and the right music, it could work.

I'm just not really that interested in seeing Rachel and Kurt dominating the songs, and Sue as a Maga maniac.  Jane Lynch was amazing as Sue, but I don't think I could stomach her cruelty given all the actual cruelty so prevalent in our current society.  I'm sure I'll check it out, but I hope Murphy doesn't repeat the issues with the last few seasons and balances the stories with all of the cast and not just the favored few.

A Convening of the Council: Beau

Do not meddle in the affairs of Wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger.
J. R. R. Tolkien

Our second coven candidate is the bewitching Beau.  Every since he was a little boy, Beau longed to leave the Wizard academy and join a world of witches and witchcraft.  Beau has also always struggled with school, and long to trade the rigid, academic study of high magic for practical, hands-on, and nature-connected mysticism.

Beau is taking his possible passage to Witchism incredibly seriously, and also taking nothing for granted.  In addition to pleading his case, he's also manipulating his maleficium to ensure nothing goes wrong.  That means spell casting and sensual scheming to ensure he has an erotic edge over his competition.  Beau is driven, but will his animalistic ambition actually be his downfall.  Only time, and a little sorcery, will tell.

Horror Hunks: Clown In A Cornfield 🌽

A fading midwestern town in which Frendo the clown, a symbol of bygone success, reemerges as a terrifying scourge.

If you search FH, you know I love me some hot clowns, and even more, love some nude hotties in cornfields.  I'm not as partial however, to killer clowns stalking their prey in cornfields.   Still, despite being staples in horror movies, Clowns can still be terrifying.  Clown In A Cornfield came out last year, but it wasn't until after Halloween that I began reading more about the Eli Craig directed horror flick.  What I read, had me wanting to check it out.

For a modern horror flick, Clown In A Cornfield is actually quite original.  Not so much with the traditional slashes and slices, they are pretty generic, with the victims being mostly hot teens.  The story behind the killer however, and two of the male characters, was to me unique.  Now looking back at the film, I should have seen both twists coming, the clues were there.  Still, when the Clown was unmasked, and the two cute male characters kissed, I had a big smile across my face.

MacCormac

Warning, if you haven't seen the film, spoiler to follow. Cole, (Carson MacCormac) and Rust, (Vincent Muller) are introduced separately early in the film, but their sexuality is both not mentioned, and not important.  Both actually seem to have wee crushes on the final girl Quinn. (Katie Douglass)  Then, as the movie goes along, hints are dropped to Cole and Rust having a past, but as an audience, we're meant to think it was a friendship that went bad. Still, there are enough crumbs dropped to figure out it was more.

My Life With The Walter Boys

Muller

Although set in a midwestern US town, the film was shot in Manitoba Canada.  It makes sense then, that the two actors have Canadian roots.  MacCormack grew up in Ontario and although originally from the Netherlands, the tall Dutchman was also raised in Canada after his family moved to Canada when he was young.

I had not seen either actor before but both were not only hot, but really skilled in their roles.  They also have great chemistry, especially with that kiss after the Clown's carnage is complete. No there is no nudity, or really any skin from the leads, (although another young hottie is shirtless when he's beheaded) but if you love horror, killer clowns, and twinkish twist, I recommend checking out this film
