Merry Christmas
& Happy Hanukkah
To All Those Celebrating today!

The two biggest winter holidays, Christmas and Hanukkah only converge an average of five times a century.  Today is both Christmas, and the first day of Hanukkah.  Since Christmas is officially just one day, today is mostly Noel nudity.  With Hanukkah spanning the next 8 days and nights, I'll feature more from the holiday in the next week.  No matter what or how you're celebrating, I wish for you a week of memorable moments!

Santa's Here!

'Shocking... disturbing... The movie they tried to ban.'

Regular readers of FH may remember that I featured the Christmas horror flick Silent Night, Deadly Night once before.  That was a few years ago, when I'd only seen the flick on DVD.   But... given the 3-disc 4K UHD + Blu-Ray set was released just this month, I knew it was time for another look back at the murdering Santa flick.

Like so many it seems, especially recently on-line, I'm not normally drawn to real-life actual killers.  Even if their hot, (and he is) call me crazy, but murder and violence for me, is a turn off.  That doesn't mean however, that I'm not drawn to fictional killers, especially really ones, played by actors in horror flicks I enjoy.

I think actor Robert Brian Wilson was one of the hottest young actors to don the fur, velvet and black leather on screen.  Silent Night, Deadly Night marked his professional acting debut, and although brand new to films, his turn as damaged 18 year old Billy was memorable and helped the film become a cult classic.  Check out more of Robert, and of Billy, on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

Just Toying, (and Boying) Around: Ethan by Frisky Frolic

'We were toying around with festive holiday attire.'

They say that some of our best, and most memorable moments are unplanned, random and spontaneous.  That's especially true when it comes to Christmas morning.  As kids, we couldn't really plan our Christmas mornings.  Sure, our parents planned, the gifts, the days activities, but it was really what Santa left under the tree that determined the day.

At our house, I knew my siblings and I would get up around 5 or 6am.  We were allowed to open our stockings, but that was it until our parents got up a few hours later.   Then, we had a quick breakfast and opened our gifts.  That's when the unplanned fun began.  I'll never forget unwrapping toys, that smell of fresh plastic I'll forever associate with Christmas morning.  I loved that smell, only years later understanding how unhealthy those chemicals actually were...

The next few hours were spontaneous bursts of fun, going from one toy and activity to another.  One Christmas morning, it was all about playing with a racing set.  The following year it was action figures, and a war with my younger brother.  As I got older, it was about building my new model, working on a doodle art, or playing the newest Parker Brothers board game.  Later, it became more about video games, and starting the new book I was gifted.

No matter the year, ,my age, or where I was, it was those brightly wrapped packages that determined how I'd be spending the morning.  It's that child-like feeling of fun and spontaneity that I always feel and enjoy from the work of JayBee from Frisky Frolic.  JayBee is one of my favorite artists to feature, and one of the most proficient photographers blending the erotic with innocence for imaginative and sexy fun.

I always enjoy featuring JayBee's work, but for some reason, I most associate his visuals with the holidays.  In part, because it was a holiday that first led me to his work.  We had planned on a new Christmas themed series for this year, but complications with scheduling got in the way.  Thanks to JayBee's extensive archive however, there were still several holiday shoots we had not yet featured.

Although as an artist, JayBee certainly planned ahead for his shoot with Ethan.  He planned the time, the location, and made sure he had plenty of festive fashions and decorations on hand.  His direction to Ethan though, was just to have fun.  Grab the items he wanted to wear, and un-wear, and just enjoy himself and play with whatever items grab is attention.

Just like a child on Christmas morning, JayBee and Ethan knew they'd have fun, and that they'd end up with great images.  How they got there however, was all about random pieces of clothing, big red bows, spontaneity, and most of all, imagination.  Tapping into those feelings of excitement, of waking up on Christmas morning.  You may no have know exactly what you'd be doing, but you knew it was going to be so much fun.

Naughty Number Nine! Colby by Gordon Nebeker

'For many years now, we have invited one of my models to join us during the Christmas season to be our Christmas Elf and help finish the tree and spread some Christmas cheer!'

Spreading a little cheer, especially at this time of year is really the reason for FH.  Photographer Gordon Nebeker summed it up perfectly. Most artists are motivated by passion, for art, for the subject they're shooting, for the creative process.  All however, should also be having just a little bit of fun.  That why the artists I featured capture the male form, and the reason I focus on it.   It can be erotic for sure, sexy and provocative, and sometimes a little bit risky.  The creative process however, should also bring some cheer, and a dose of innocent, child-like fun.

I've been so lucky to feature Gordon's Christmas Elves for almost a decade now, starting with Mr. Herzog back in 2015.  Since then, there have been 8 different Elves, (Mr. Herzog and Mark were hired twice to trim Gordon's branches)  This year, Colby becomes Elf number nine!

Within the Elf world, especially within his pack, Colby Harris is considered an eminent Elf!  I first noticed his Elf magic almost a year ago, and have been following his Elving, aka modeling work ever since.  I was fortunate to have featured his work with StudioMGphotographer earlier this year. (HERE:)  Colby has had a busy year, working with some of my favorite chroniclers of the Elves, and with the male form.

'I thought the theme was very fun and I was excited to see what I would bring to the Christmas Tree helper series. One of my favorite things about working with Gordon is the insight he gives me. I’m still learning so much every time I step in front of a camera. Gordon collaborates by letting me try things that fail and succeed; his cues are helpful, and I’ll keep them in mind for my next shoot. '

Over the years, Gordon has become a bit of an Elf whisperer, and knows instinctively how to spot an Elf who's a great stocking stuffer, and well hung with care.  Gordon shares that Colby slipped into character, as seamlessly as he slipped out of his clothes.  Gordon couldn't have asked for a better Christmas Elf, one who expressed his personality, brought the Christmas cheer, all with his great sense of humor!

When looking back on the first post almost a decade ago, I was reminded how much has changed since then.  Over Christmas, I often schedule my posts ahead of time, as I'm often not home, or near the computer at posting time.  Back in 2015, I spent Christmas with my family, including both of my parents.  Since then, both had sadly left us,  I still usually spend it with family, but it's not the same.

When most of us grew up, if we were lucky, it was changed. Many of have experienced having our Parents plan, organize and create our holidays.  They led the call for holiday cheer.  At some point, as many of us have experienced, those roles reversed.  The last decade or so, they depended on me, to decorate their house and do their shopping.  It was my siblings, their children and I who were now in charge of collecting the spirit and bringing the cheer.  Although things inevitably change, the key is maintaining the cheer, no matter where, and who you're with.

Gordon, Colby (and I) hope you feel the festive.  That in some small way, wherever and however you're spending your Christmas,....  that those viewing the series, feel a small sense of the cheer and joy that went into creating them.  Merry Christmas!
