Finding Mr. Christmas: Isaac Ramirez

'You're Going Home for the Holidays!'

Sadly it was 28 year old firefighter  Isaac Ramirez who heard those words above from Jonathan Bennett on the first episode of Finding Mr. Christmas.  Isaac was one of my favorites, and one of the hottest, men competing to be the star of an upcoming Hallmark Christmas movie.

If you check out Isaac's Instagram, (HERE:) it's obvious this firefighter often strips off his uniform to model.  Isaac thankfully seems to be shot most often in just his Calvin Kleins.  Isaac has a great look, incredible body, beautiful face and eyes and great head of hair!  If the show was just about looks, I'm sure he would have stuck around, but they're also looking for someone 'camera ready' and able to Christmas crafts on a time-line.

It's sort of interesting that Hallmark is focusing on the male lead, looking for someone who can act with plenty of charisma.   Of course there are plenty of hot, and very talented actors in Hallmark films, but most of the male characters are not really written as especially complex.

The focus is usually on the female character, with the male lead usually as background.  It's starting to change, especially with the male actors getting most of the attention from fans.   Jonathan Bennett is certainly on that list, and with Hallmark now doing gay themed holiday films, there is more focus on fleshing out different male character types.

Tom Gronau in The German Lesson

'Not the banality of evil but the evil of banality.'

In 2019's Deutschstunde, (The German Lesson) actor Tom Gronau plays Siggi, a young man in juvenile detention, just after the Second World War.  As part of his punishment, Siggi is must write an essay with the theme, 'The Joys of Duty.'  Overwhelmed by the topic, Siggi begins suffering from an acute case of writer's block.

Later, after being put into solitary confinement, Siggi finds the clarity to look back over his childhood during the wary in the small north-German village where he grew up.  His memories focus on the relationship between his father Jens, and a family friend Max, who's an artist.  Siggi's father is a police officer, and is dedicated to enforcing the will of the Nazi Party.

'More specifically:  to enforce the ban on the possession and creation of all modern modern art. This directly affects Max, who resists despite the dire consequences. Both Jens and Max enlist Siggi  to help their differing agendas. Caught between his father's loyalty to the laws of the Nazi Party and Max's passion for expressionism, Siggi must choose between fitting in and resisting.'
