Crevice Cling

Critical Component: Conner by Gordon Nebeker

'This was my first shoot in Gordon’s new place so I enjoyed getting to have new settings in which to work. We all enjoyed getting to throw out ideas and collaborate to make it a great shoot.'

Having worked with Conner (Texas_Phoenix) in the past, photographer Gordon Nebeker knew he not only gave it his all, he also always delivered.  Conner has a incredible body and a strong face with expressive features.  This makes him not only a great solo model, but also a great addition to any couple shoot. Conner has the unique ability to create heat and chemistry with almost everyone he works with.  Living in Orlando, Conner was close to Gordon's home studio, and was able to get a day off a work when he received the call from Gordon.

'I always enjoy shooting with Gordon so I knew it would be a good work experience. I had never met Nico before but I had followed him on Instagram and seen his work. I usually don’t Google or do too much before to research them. I like the meeting to be genuine and to form first impressions in person. I usually ask Gordon about the other models experience in modeling. I’m not a pro by any means but it’s nice to know how much experience they have. It’s also fun to just know where they are from or what they do for a living. '

Many of you saw Conner's previous FH appearance last year on FH. (HERE:)  The piece featured Conner's work with Tim, and the finished images which Gordon compiled in his most recent book, Love In The Afternoon.  Gordon remembers that over their two days of shooting, Conner and Tim beautifully bonded together in the creative and posing process.  Later, when Gordon finished processing the photos, he was blown away by their chemistry and the images created.  It was then, he knew a book was in order.   You can check out the book on Blurb HERE:

For this shoot with Nico, both he and Conner arrived around 10pm the evening before the shoot.  This gave them the chance to meet and talk before waking up the next morning and getting down to business with the shoot.  Conner says they clicked really well and both were comfortable with nude modeling and it was easy to wake up and get started right away.  Conner also enjoys observing and learning from the models he works with.  From Nico, Conner received some new tips and tricks for keeping energy in the shots, and finding new and unique poses.

'I am very proud of what we captured in the day. I always love getting in the water and so it was fun to help Nico in his first underwater shoot.'

'It was nice that between shots, or when Gordon was setting up, Nico and I were able to make small talk and get to know each other better. It helps to keep out any awkward tension when in your undies or naked so being to chat was very nice. I think that is what helped us capture some great moments. . It also helps that neither of us were shy, so we didn’t mind the intimacy of some of the shots we captured. Being able to connect and have that level of comfort is crucial I feel. Gordon also always makes a very fun and safe environment enabling such moments to occur.'

Oliver Tobias in The Stud

'He managed the hottest disco in town, but she managed him.'

I'm not exactly sure why, but I was drawn to DVR the CNN special Lady Boss: The Jackie Collins story.  I say I don't know why as I've never ready any of Jackie Collins books.  My biggest connection to the writer was watching clips of Andrew Steven on YouTube from the 1985 mini series Hollywood Wives based on her book.

I guess I have to thank CNN's promotional department, for their excellent advertising.  I was especially drawn to some of the clips of Collins and the Hollywood from the 70's and 80's.  I watched the documentary over a few days and was really interested in learning about Collins entry into writing and her following her sister Joan to Hollywood.  Jackie's end was sad, but it was inspirational seeing how she continued to promote her work until the very end.

Joan Collins is always a kick, and she had more than a few fascinating stories to share.  The one that stood out to me the most was discussing her role in 1978's The Stud.  The film adaptation of her sisters novel is in many ways considered the project that saved Collins acting career, leading to her role a few years later on Dynasty.  The few clips from the film shown had me interested in checking it out, especially seeing Collins co-star Oliver Tobias.  Collins comments mocking the gorgeous Tobias only had me wanting to check it out even more.

Fontaine (Joan Collins) is the London wife of Benjamin, a wealthy Arab businessman. She spends his money on her nightclub, "The Hobo", and partying. She hires a handsome manager, Tony, (Tobias) to run her club, but it is understood that his job security is dependent on his satisfying her nymphomaniacal demands.

'I suppose the reason for that success was the empowerment for women – that they could make their own decisions sexually and all the rest of it.  I was then labelled with “The Stud” and people completely forgot that I was an actor playing the part. They really thought that I was the Stud, but you’ve never seen me with a gold medallion or Gucci shoes or dressed up like a waiter! I’ve never been that! It was an interesting role to play and it was kind of a milestone in cinema. I’m very proud of it.'

'His face is an open invitation to bed.'
Jackie Collins, The Stud

'The orgy scene with Oliver Tobias, Sue Lloyd, and Mark Burns. We all got absolutely drunk out of our skulls. That was the only way we could do it.'
Joan Collins

In reading a bit about the orgy scene in The Stud, some have written there was more nudity, including a frontal from Tobias in the VHS release of the film.  Unfortunately, despite my searching, I could only find a copy of the DVD.  If anyone has seen, or has a clip of the VHS version, let me know!

Check out more of Oliver Tobias, and his on-screen skin resume in the post below:

Oliver Tobias: Actors & SKIN

Born in Zürich, Switzerland, actor Oliver Tobias moved to the United Kingdom when he was just eight. Almost as soon as he arrived, he began training at the East 15 Acting School, London. Tobias got his start in musicals, and with nudity, back in 1968.  When he was 21, the young actor appeared in the original London production of Hair, playing the prime rebel role of Berger..

Operation Nam (1986)

A year later, and several stage productions later, Tobias got his first film role in 1969's Arthur? Arthur?  The British comedy also featured Donald Pleasence and Shelley Winters. Tobias, now in his 70's, is still a busy working actor with several new projects due for release next year.

Oliver's last nude scene was in 1986's Operation Nam.  It's not an easy scene to watch, but it's a quick flashback scene.

The Wicked Lady (1983)

'Caroline is to be wed to Sir Ralph and invites her sister Barbara to be her bridesmaid. Barbara seduces Ralph, however, and she becomes the new Lady, but despite her new wealthy situation, she gets bored and turns to highway robbery for thrills.'

'Tis Pity She's a Whore (1971)

'Annabella marries Soranzo, when she is pregnant by her brother Giovanni. Destiny, and jealousies will expose her past, and Soranzo broods revenge. But he is not alone in that - and death will unite all.'

Oliver's nude scene in 1971's 'Tis Pity She's A Whore' includes another nude scene not easy to watch. The film ends with a Game of Thrones style Red Wedding massacre with Oliver's character Giovanni being killed.

I uploaded Oliver's nude scenes on SendSpace.  Love scene is HERE:  Bloody Death scene HERE:
