Seo Kyung-su: One Fine Fiyero

Although I love me some Jonathan Bailey, I'm not really that excited about the movie version of Wicked.  Like so many Broadway shows, my introduction came through the original soundtrack, and the movie versions rarely compare.  I remember being so disappointed watching the movie version of Into The Woods.   The PBS filming of the original Broadway cast was so much better.  It was funnier, more emotional and much more theatrical, at least for me anyway.

That being said,  I do love the soundtrack, and enjoy watching clips of the many cast members who have rotated through the roles on stage.  I will watch the movie, but not until it arrives on one the streaming services I belong to.

If you check out my 'witch' themed post last month, you remember I did do a piece featuring the male led in the show.  (HERE: )It featured over 30 of my favorite actors who have stepped into the boots and riding pants while playing the role of Fiyero. I had intended to feature Korean actor Seo Kyung-su, (kyungsu.seo) but in the end, felt I was cramming actors in and not devoting the attention so many deserved.

Seo Kyung-su definitely needed his own post. When Seo Kyungsoo was in his third year of high school, he attended Kyunghee University and  was admitted to the Department of Theater and Film. Upon the recommendation of his vocal music teacher, he auditioned for the additional ensemble of Jesus Christ Superstar and made his professional debut at the very young age of 19. After his debut, he continued to build his skills by participating in ensemble and supporting roles in various works, and began to make his presence known to the audience in earnest by taking on the role of Gabe Goodman in the 2013 musical Next to Normal.

In 2021, Seo Kyungsoo took on one of his most popular roles, playing Fiyero in Wicked.  The actor shares that 'Dancing Through Life' is a number that requires a lot of detail and energy to cover the whole, so it was a number that gave him a sense of self-destruction to the point that he worried about the musical while practicing.

Seo Kyung-soo has played so many great male musical roles on Korean stages, including: Jack Kelly from Newsies the Musical, Monty Navarro from The Gentleman's Guide Musical , Danny Zuko from the Musical Grease.  More recently, the talented actor took on the role of Lola, a drag queen who breaks down gender boundaries in the Korean production of Kinky Boots.  Lastly, I realize I spelled the actors name three different ways in this post.  I've seen it written several ways on social media and in articles, and wanted to ensure I covered them all.

Battle of the Network Stars VI
May 7th, 1979

Sandy

Battle of Network Stars began in the mid 1970's and most of them aired when I was still gurgling in my crip.  I think the first one I remember watching when it aired was actually the last in the original series that aired in 1989.

Urich

Although I was to young to watch the original airings, thankfully, over a decade later, I was able to go back and watch some of the earlier episodes.  It wasn't on-line, but during the time Trio aired the series.  I didn't have Trio at home, but was visiting my brother.  I think it was in the late 1990's, but may have been the early 2000's.  They did a marathon, and I kept leaving the family festivities and heading into the den to watch.

Urich & Hatch

I was via those airings that I was introduced to so many hot hunks from the 1970's.  Some I'd seen on TV or in magazines, others, I was introduced to for the very first time.  Like so many, I devoured the view, especially for those shapely speedo bulges and butts like in the image above of Robert Urich and Richard Hatch.  Check out many more speedo bulges and butts from Battle VI on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

Big Boots to Fill: Chris by Unlimited Male

'Honestly, he was one of the least modest people that I have ever met.'

When you're a model, a lack of modesty is certainly an asset.  Even when your focus is on fashion, models are often required to strip down and change, sometimes in rooms filled with strangers.  For Chris, it didn't exactly begin with strangers, but it did begin early. Growing up, he shared a room with his two brothers, and living in the south, none of them ever wore underwear.  This made stripping down in front of others, neither something new, or the least bit strange for him.

Many FH viewers might remember Chris from last appearance on the site.  I first featured Chris, and his work with Jay from Unlimited Male, two years ago. (HERE:)  Despite the fact that Chris looks incredibly hot completely naked, in this post, much like the previous one, my initial focus was on fashion....  Why fashion, when you have a model with such an incredible body, well, as I wrote in the previous piece, Jay knows how to lay the erotic foundation, for the stunning structure that's to come.

In the previous piece, Jay used fashion to create a series of images with a sensual slow strip.  The reveal was half the fun.  The fashion is used much like color, location and lighting.  All are used by Jay to highlight parts of the Chris' personality as well as his incredibly beautiful body.  For me, one of the key fashion pieces in this shoot, were Chris' boots.

I remember a few specific hotties in high school who used to strut down the hall in their red wing leather boots.  Most had a long leather tongue and were loosely laced, if laced at all. Most of these guys weren't the jocks, or the popular guys or overachievers.  Most seemed a little more like trouble, like Bender in The Breakfast Club.  There were more than few I wanted to see stripped completely naked, except for those boots of course.  Jay's images of Chris completely fulfills that fantasy!

'I don't think Chris was necessarily trouble, unless it was good trouble.  When he first connected with Jay, he was focused on building his portfolio and his career as a model.   Chris has been living in New York for awhile, and had some success.  He'd worked with Rick Day and for the Score Underwear brand.  When he moved back to South Carolina, there weren't as many modeling opportunities, and was very interested in shooting when Jay contacted him through Model Mayhem to shoot.

The thing that I remember most about Chris from our shoots was how comfortable he was with nudity. He didn’t seem to have a modest bone in his body or any hang ups with being completely naked in front of my camera. '

I love that even after Chris removed most of his clothes, Jay had him keep his boots on when they started shooting nudes.   Those shots are definitely some of my favorites.  Jay shares that Chris really seemed to enjoy posing and he was definitely having a lot of fun while showing off for the camera.

Although they shot several fashion looks, each time the pants came off, Chris swiftly got an erection.  This wasn't something Jay asked for, or even something Chris had to work for.  Chris just seemed to be enjoying his work, and something that  just occurred spontaneously, each time he was fully nude.

Chris is a great guy who is definitely not shy and I really enjoyed working with him. He’s a model that I would welcome the chance to work with if our paths ever cross again.

I'm just guessing here, but think the fact that Chris never wears underwear may be connected to his ease with erections.  Living in the North East, I rarely go anywhere without wearing underwear, especially in the winter.  There were a few times however, I remember going commando in the summer, and there was certainly a feeling of fervent freedom.

Chris knew how to work going commando, not just with modeling, but with almost every job he took. While they were shooting, Chris shared with Jay that when he was working as a waiter, he made sure his work pants were extremely tight.  Chris had zero problems with people checking out his package, and knew showing a little bulge and tip, meant getting bigger tips.
