Seasonal Sightings:

Jamie Campbell Bower: Historically Assurate

The first thing I noticed about the friendly orderly was his look.  A fascinating mix of both ethereal and evil, it was clear from his first scene the character would make an impact.  Actor Jamie Campbell Bower is perfect in the role, and I was instantly drawn to his character and his relationship with Eleven.

With his lean body and facial structure, it wasn't a surprise when Googling the actor to discover he was also a model.   The English actor and singer made his film debut along side Johnny Depp in  Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. He followed the film up with appearances in The Twilight Saga, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, He also appeared as the young Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Camelot (2011)

In addition to Stranger Things, Campbell Bower also appeared on several English historical dramas, two of which included brief butt baring scenes. In Camelot, the actor played King Arthur, a carefree young man until learning he is the only male heir to the thrown.  The Irish-Canadian co-production is based on the Arthurian legend, and also featured actors Joseph Fiennes and Eva Green.

Will (2017)

'London,1589, when theatre was like rock'n'roll and a young man with a dream changed the world with his words.'

The actor also appeared in Will, a drama series about the (fictional) life of William Shakespeare in his early 20s.  In the TNT's shows first and only season, Campbell Bower played Christopher Marlowe, an Elizabethan poet and William Shakespeare's most important predecessor in English drama.

Rousingly Rustic: Atlas Kolbjörn by Shax Carter

'It was particularly rewarding to see Atlas grow and gain experience as a model over the several shoots we did this past year. On the first shoot I gave him direction initially, and as we progressed he contributed more and more to the various themes and poses.'

For their second shoot together, Shax and model Atlas Kolbjörn got a little more rustic and randy with a focus on capturing different sides of Atlas' personality and passions.  From his inner cowboy to his martial arts skills with judo, Krav Maga and Muay Thai.  They also shot both in, and outside of cabin, providing many opportunities to explore various looks and themes.

'When we were planning the second shoot, I ordered a lot of stuff specifically for that, and Atlas came up with some great ideas as well. For the second, we tried a lot of different themes to see what would work best. Some of the best ones were specifically his, and he communicated to me beforehand what he would like to wear for them, and what props he would like to use. '

'We talked constantly throughout the shoot, telling each other stories and getting to know one another. I showed him some of my previous work, and he particularly liked some of the western/cowboy shots I had done with previous models. This actually led to the cowboy theme of the second shoot. '
Shax

'Oh me? Quiet? Never. Me and Shax always found something worth while and interesting to talk about whether it was truly relevant or not. Sometimes it's just nice to talk about hobbies to see what we have in common '

'I think what I love most about modeling is the feeling of mutualism. I help the photographer by posing in just the right light. And they help me by being the creative brain behind the lens.'

I think two of my favorite themes from the second shoot were the images of Atlas demonstrating his martial arts skills, and the naked fishing shots by the pond.  There were other images from each set I couldn't fit in, but both tell complete stories of their own that I was really drawn in to.

Although both Shax and Atlas enjoy their experiences during their first two shoots together, both agree, they're favorite shoot was their recent winter shoot on New Year's Eve. Hopefully, they'll both be up for sharing the results with FH soon!  If there's a forth, there's another side of his personality that Atlas would love to share  Atlas loves the idea of a casino or Vegas strip themed shoot.  A shoot with swagger  where he can channel the ambiance of Vegas and his inner Wayne Newton.
