That's Me!

I'll never forget when I first discovered Bravo Magazine....

The first time I wrote the German magazine Bravo, I wrote about how I first discovered it while on vacation when I about 11 or 12 years old.  The magazine has actually been around in one form or another since the 1950's.  It began as a celebrity  magazine, with covers featuring stars like Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and other big names of the time.  If you search the magazine on E-bay, you'll see covers featuring the who's who in movies and television over the last 8 decades.

It seems to have gone through phases, from movie stars, to more music superstars in the 1970's, through television and teen stars in the 1980's.  It was during the 70's and 80's the magazine was primarily devoured by teens and young adults.  In part, it was the celebrity contact, but in part it was also the adult, and sexual issues covered.  In the early 70's, two issues featuring articles on masturbation were for the first time 'indexed', meaning they could not be sold to customers under the age of 18.

Internationally, the magazine also got into trouble for a section titled Dr. Sommer's That's Me!.  That's Me featured full frontal nudity from both male and female models.  The issue, was that the models were teenagers, aimed at the eye of their audience.  Because it was legal in Germany, some of these models were initially as young as 14 years old.  Now, if the goal was education, and only other eyes on the images were also around 14, you argue the educational value, but of course, that was not the case.

Soon, the age of models was moved up to 16, but again, this didn't made the cut for other countries and their huge international audience.  The magazine initially got 'tricky' to get the images past the censors by having the models 'click' the camera button themselves.  This way, they were not being shot by an adult.  This didn't cut the mustard though, so from the 2010's onwards, the models had to be at least 18 years of age.  The cut off age for models also moved from 20 years old, to 25 years old.

Original Sin: Adam Taylor

Adam Taylor
Australian Women's Forum

Whenever I find a new model or layout from the Australian Women's Forum I have to post it.   Many of you may remember the previous nude layouts, (HERE:) that I've posted.  The Australian magazine, which was published throughout most of the 1990's, was the countries own version of Playgirl.  Women's issues, sprinkled with a nice dose of eye candy.

''If Adam in the Garden of Eden looked anything like this Adam. we could understand why he and Eve got into so much trouble...'

I could find out which issue Adam Taylor appeared in, but I did learn the 24 year old was working as a chef on the Gulf Coast when he was approached to strip down.  Adam wasn't initially that keen on posing nude when he was first asked.  It turned out that it was his girlfriend who talked him into it.

'Adam keeps his gorgeous bod by surfing, but also recently adding snowboarding to his routine while working as a chief in the snowfields.'

Sniff: Unwashed & Unashamed

'Provocative, visceral, and unapologetically queer, SNIFF is more than a magazine — it’s a movement. A tactile, visual rebellion inviting readers to step inside the world of artists who live, create, and lust without compromise.'

The Male Muse Publishing launches the new magazine SNIFF: a new frontier in queer art and fetish culture. SNIFF follows the format to Inspiró,, (which I previously featured HERE:) but exclusively focuses on mixing queer art with fetish themes SNIFF is a bold, subversive publication blurring the line between queer fine art and fetish culture. Conceived as a sanctuary for uncensored queer expression in a world still policed by censorship and conformity, SNIFF celebrates artists who work fearlessly in the erotic underground.

I never thought of myself as someone especially drawn to fetish or fetish culture, but the second I saw the cover and promo images for SNIFF, a pleasurable, but risky memory came to mind.  I was about 15, and hanging out with a group of guys at a friend's house.  I had a crush on the guy who lived there, but was still deep in the closet.  During a break in video game playing, I headed to the bathroom, passing the guy's room on the way.

I didn't plan it, I didn't even really think about it, but on the way back to the living room, I darted into his room and shut the door.  I reached into his clothes hamper, picked up a pair of his dirty underwear and shoved them hard into my face.  They smelled like heaven.  I quickly shoved them back into the hamper, and went back into the living room, positive I was bright red and that everyone would notice.

No one did of course, and I began thinking about returning to the room and taking those underwear home with me.  I didn't get the chance, that day at least, but I did eventually end up with a different pair of his worn undies a month or so later....

I guess I've always had a bit of fetish for the aroma of guys I liked.  I think it started with all those hours in the locker room when I played hockey.  The smell, even today, brings back memories and pleasure.  I think we all take risks when we're teens, and sexuality experimenting as figure out who we are.  So many of us sadly, stop taking risks, and chose safety over danger when we get older.  Fetish in many ways, is holding on to that sexual excitement that was so chancing, but thrilling.

Each issue of SNIFF features a curated blend of photography, painting, illustration, and other experimental modalities, revealing the raw and unfiltered beauty of desire in all its forms — from bondage and role play to fetish gear, sneakers, and the worship of feet.  Scent One, the debut issue, includes exclusive interviews with two unique voices in contemporary fetish culture: Spanish fetish photographer Abraham Saraya, and Master Bearded Koldo, a respected figure within leather and BDSM communities.

The issue also features three original pieces of queer erotica by author Lawrence Schimel and multi disciplinary artist J Davies, expanding SNIFF’s storytelling into intimate narrative and literary seduction.  SNIFF, Scent One has been released in both print and digital formats. The digital edition is expanded with over 100 additional images — content considered too explicit, too raw, or simply too hot for print, offering a deeper and wilder dive into the magazine’s erotic visual world.  You can check out and purchase the print issue HERE: and the expanded digital issue HERE:

Julien Odoul: A Deputy Disrobed

There's really nothing like ripping the suits off politicians and exposing what lies beneath.  It's especially satisfying when it's a politician on the far right. I know many of you know already know French politician Julien Odoul.  Odoul is a Deputy of the French National Assembly, and amember of the National Rally.  He has represented the 3rd constituency of the Yonne department in the National Assembly since 2022.

Openly gay, Odoul is part of a trend some analysts describe as 'homonationalism'.  The term describes the shift of some gay voters to the right, integrating into society as it is rather than pushing for further rights and changes.   I don't agree with almost any of Odoul's views, or the issues he supports, but as media figure, with a nude modeling past, he's worth taking a closer look at.

A former model, Odoul was the cover of the LGBTQ magazine Têtu when he was 21 years old. A few years later, was on the cover of the German gentleman's magazine Gab.  Throw in a few nude photoshoots and except for his becoming a politician, he could be one of the many models I've featured over the years.

Oh... about those nudes, I wouldn't tease you by not including a few.  Check them out on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

Steve Henson: DreamBoy

Steve Henson
Photography by Catalina Video

I know the quality of these shots aren't great, to be expected from scans from a magazine from the eighties.  There was something about them however, that I was really drawn to and wanted to share as many as I could find and enlarge from the August 1986 issue of Torso Magazine.

The series features Steve hanging and around and playing in a backyard pool.  Although he's naked in some images, in most of them, he's wearing a pair of white briefs.  Those wet briefs brought back a flood of memories from high school.  I think for many, our first introduction to 'sort of' skinning dipping came from swimming in our underwear.

For me, this happened on several occasion when I was in my mid to late teens.  Often, on hot summer nights, when I was hanging out friends, someone would suggest we go to the 'rock'.  The rock wasn't really a place, but the name we used for the location we often went swimming.  It was a small inlet at the end of a lake with a tall rock on the side of hill.  The thrill was to climb onto the rock and jump off into the water.

I only remember going to the rock once during the day, most of my visits were at night, and very spontaneous.  They usually occurred when one of my friends was bored and suggested we head to the rock.  Because it wasn't planned, none of had bathing suits with us.  Because it was usually late at night, we couldn't go home and grab them without having to explain to our parents why we wanted our bathing suit at 11pm on a Friday night.   The 'rock' could be dangerous as several kids were hurt jumping in late at night.  Most were high or drunk, and most parents would not have supported us going.

Although it was often a group of guys, sometimes there were girls along as well.  This meant that most of us, stripped down to our undies for our jump off the rock into the cool water.  Many of the guys wore boxers, which wasn't a big deal.  I however, along with a few others, were usually wearing just briefs.  As you all know I'm sure, wet briefs don't hide much.  I never wore white briefs, but the baby blue ones I usually had on were almost as transparent.

At some point, when everyone was in the water, the routine was that someone, usually a guy, would yell underwear off.  We'd then all yank off our wet undies and hold them in the air to prove we were naked.  This happened when it was just the guys, and when there were girls with us as well.  We'd then swim around naked for awhile, naked, but without anyone really seeing anything.

Some of the guys walked out of the water naked, holding their hands or their undies over their junk.  Most of us put our underwear back on before heading to shore.  I remember a few times, having a friend point out that my briefs were pretty much see through, especially when there was plenty of moonlight.  Usually I didn't care, unless of course there was someone I was crushing over in the group, or when I was sporting a semi.

I have many fond memories of late summer nights wearing just my soaking wet briefs.  The feel of the wet undies was amazing when in the water, but not so great on the drive home.  Sometimes I'd take them off and just wear my pants home, but other nights, I just shoved my pants on over them and and was wet an uncomfortable on the drive home.  T

hen of course, once home, I'd go quickly to my room, peel them off, throw them in the hamper, and put on a clean, dry pair.   Most of these late night swims were followed a day or two  later with my mother asking me why my underwear were soaked when did the wash.   It was not too long after, I started doing my own laundry.
