Two Headed Hammer

Truth be told, I was never a big Armie Hammer fan until his performance in Call Me By Your Name. It wasn't that I didn't like him, he just hadn't had any roles in movies that I really loved or connected with. I had forgotten one role however, until The Social Network was on TV again last month. I didn't watch it all, but I remembered Hammer dual role as twins suing Mark Zuckerberg claiming he stole their social media idea in order to form Facebook.

The Social Network (2010)

After seeing Armie on screen for a few minutes, I wanted to learn more about the twins he was playing on screen. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss were co-founders of a social media site called ConnectU. The site was formed while both twins attended Harvard in 2002. Like Facebook, the site was set up to add people as friends, send them messages, and update their personal profiles to update friends on their lives.

The Winklevoss Twins

The Winklevoss Twins, also known as Winklevi and Winklevii personify the term Ivy Leaguer, in both lifestyle and appearance. Born in South Hampton, the upper crusters are also professional rowers and competed in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Successful Internet entrepreneurs, in addition to their social media days while in University they brothers also made it big in bitcoin and recently won a patent for settling exchange-traded products with digital currencies, including bitcoin, ripple, dogecoin and ethereum.

Beyond the Front Porch: Bobby by JW Johnson

'Bobby does like to show off, he's quite a tease.'

In real life, we don't always embrace show off's and teases, but in photography, having the ability to play off the camera, and buisild a relationship with the person behind it, is key to connecting to viewers and drawing them into the final images. Bobby certainly drew me in, with is tight, sexy body and beautiful hazel eyes that almost seem to be calling viewers to join him...

Last month, when featuring the work of JW Johnson, Missouri based photographer was shooting Steven on this same beautiful porch. (Patio, Porch & Garden) The porch belongs to the main house on a large horse farm belonging to two of JW's good friends. The location has so many different spots to shoot with fields, fences, barns and out buildings provide so many different visuals and varied environments for models to interact with.

Unlike Steven, who JW shot around the house, patio and pool, Bobby was more adventurous, moving beyond the gardens and iris bed into the barns and fields. The images in this series are from two different shoots, one in which JW shot Bobby alone, and the second where they were joined by another Bobby, Bobby D, a photographer friend of JW's.

JW first noticed Bobby in on-line and felt he would make be perfect to shoot in the farm location. Bobby had shared he grew up on a farm, so JW's goal was to have Bobby channel his inner cowboy. When they met up for the first shoot, JW was pleasantly surprised to see Bobby looked even hotter in person. Before heading out to shoot, JW and Bobby sat down to discuss Bobby's modeling goals and what Bobby was looking to get out of their work together.

Bobby was very interested in doing nudes, and finding out where it might take him. JW wanted to get a variety of looks and capture different levels of erotica from clothed and implied shots, through full nudes and harder images for Bobby to use for the adult film work Bobby was interested in pursuing. As soon as he began shooting, JW was immediately impressed with Bobby's hot build, his dazzling smile and his natural posing ability. he came across not only sexy, but also had a sincerity that came across in many of the images. It only took a few frames for JW to see he had a natural on my hands.

For the second shoot, Bobby and JW drove over and met photographer Bobby D. outside of town to lead him up to the farm. When they arrived JW introduced Bobby and Bobby D. and to their hosts, the owners of the farm. They started on the porch with Bobby in jeans, and were quickly joined on the porch by a couple of the farms cats and some hummingbirds who seemed curious about what was going on in their regular feeding area.

They soon moved away from the main house and did a few hots in an old stone building on the side of the farm. JW used the window and doorway and opted to use only the window as the sole light inside. 'It's a beautiful light when you shoot at just the right time of day.' They next hit the barn and it was there JW then asked Bobby to channel that hidden farm hand and cowboy he knew he had from his childhood growing up on a farm.

'Bobby is a great guy and has all those attributes you look for in a model and quite frankly, a good friend...honesty, dependability, reliability and a great attitude. All I had to do was give him a theme and turn him loose with very little direction from me. Bobby is one of those models that is a joy to work with plus that smile that could light up the skyline. All I had to do was tell him I wanted a few different looks from him and a smile every fourth shot and he came thru every time.'

It wasn't until they started shooting in hay barn that Bobby completely removed his jeans and cowboy hat to shoot some nudes. When done rolling in the hay, it was Bobby who requested to shoot with the horses, and well... since he was already naked.... Bobby instantly took a liking to one of the horses, which was appropriate given the horse Bobby was posing with was named Bob.
