Corey Kirk by Chris Teel

I remember that when I first discovered Chris Teel's work I was impressed with his interior and studio work, (Jae Garcia & Sergio Hiram who were profiled on FH). I really loved how Chris used light, creative concepts, props and splashes of color to create beautiful, erotic and most of all unique shots.

More recently Chris has been doing more and more work outside (including Samuel Boux who was featured recently on FH). The challenges of exterior shoots are often much more complex as you have much less control of your environment, lighting in particular.

With a heatwave currently blanketing Eastern Canada and the North East US, Chris chose to make things even hotter by turning the temperature up even higher with his recent shoots with Corey Kirk. Corey has an amazing look, sultry with those beautiful green eyes and his amazing chest.

These shots were taken in a community garden in Toronto. Chris says he stumbled across it and thought it was a great oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle.

The shots were taken early this past Sunday morning:
'We had quite a bit of privacy, or so we thought. Corey and I would like to express our apologies to the poor woman who stumbled across our shoot.'

For some reason I am sure she was not bothered by it.

Like most people who achieve success, Corey Kirk had dreams of making it big, of becoming someone. Growing up in a small town in Northern Ontario he knew he had to formulate a plan so his dreams did not remain just something he wanted to do but became something he was actually doing. In 2005 Corey decided to leave his hometown to actively pursue his passion in modeling by dedicating every moment to fully understanding all aspects of business.

Corey did not just rely on his looks, he focused on both mind and body. Corey holds an undergraduate degree in marketing and a post-graduate degree in advertising. These degree's not will provide a great back up, but also help Corey's understanding of all sides of the business. Corey's hard work has led to a busy schedule of shoots, not only in Canada but in New York. His hard work and dedication is just beginning to pay off with international exposure and work.

“Every shoot you learn something new and grow as a model”
Corey Kirk

Chris Teel and Corey Kirk only recently met, but after just a couple of shoots a trust and mutual respect was quickly formed.

Corey says of Chris:

"I can hardly wait to get back in front of your camera again. To all models in the Toronto area, if you ever get the opportunity to work with this photographer, make sure you take it. Book him, show up, and this guys will get the best out of you!"

Chris says of Corey:

"Corey's phenomenal! I'd say, of the 100+ guys I've shot over the last year, that he's probably the most focused on succeeding in this industry. He works out several hours a day, 6 days a week to get that physique. He has a 'plan for success' and I have no doubt that he'll achieve his goals"

Chris tells me they have plans to shoot again soon so we can look forward to more work from Chris and Corey!

Fearless Videos

I have posted before about Justin Violini & the Fearless Project.

"The Fearless Project is an art and cultural initiative bringing together artists, outsiders, thinkers, musicians, designers, writers, creatives: anyone who has ever had the urge to do something outside of their comfort zone."

One of my favorites, Greg Kelley. See more of Greg on FH HERE:

"When we fear things I think that we wish for them ... every fear hides a wish." - David Mamet

Combining ones primal fears, raw sexuality and the artistry of not only Justin, but the models and artists who are sending in their own work has led to a incredible collection of amazing images, stories and videos. Here are three of my favorite videos from the project. You can check out more at the Fearless YouTube Channel HERE:

Kudos to Damages and DirecTV

Kudos to DirecTV for saving one of televisions best shows Damages.
It would have been a crime for one of tv's best written, best acted and best conceived shows to leave the air so early. DirecTV renewed Damages for another 2 seasons.

Nick Adams Update:

Above: "A Gay Day in America" from The Advocate

Haven't written too much about a Broadway favorite Nick Adams in a while as he has been busy with La Cage Aux Folles. We recently also saw Nick take part yet again in Broadway Bares. Nick had to take a break from La Cage due to a fractured rib but he is back as strong as ever!

Congratulations to Nick for landing one of the leads, along with Tony Sheldon and Will Swenson in the new production of Adam/Felicia (played in the movie by Guy Pearce) in the new production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert opening in Toronto in the fall.
