Saltmurphy Autumn/Winter 2026

FH readers know I love me a great CMNM shoot, and love when an advertising campaign embraces the theme.  That's exactly what the clothing brand Salt Murphy did to promote their Fall/Winter collection.  Salt Murphy is a menswear line designed in Paris, and I love the 'Boss / employee themed series photographed by Deluxewhor.   There's not question however, who's the boss as it's the naked one, whose always in charge.

Sun-Kissed 🌞

Flippin’ for Florida — Flip-Flops & Palms.

While we're on the subject of PRIDE, Florida gets a bad wrap.  Some of it is deserved, I mean the orange anus calls the state home.  In addition, the current Governor has signed a slew of anti-LBGTQ bills, created some of the most discriminatory measures in the country.  Back in July of 2024, the state tourism marketing agency, Visit Florida, also quietly removed it's dedicated LGBTQ+ travel section as well as dozens of related landing pages from its website.

But, like the current squatter in the White House, (which these days is looking like a run-down and long closed themed park) DeSanctimonious will not be there forever.  The bigoted blowhard's final term ends this January, so who knows what will happen after that.  I remember a more welcoming Florida, one I spent time in when I was younger.

Recently, I came upon a threat on Twitter dedicated to hot men on old Florida post cards and tourism  promotional material.  Sure, most seem aimed at straight women, but they knew exactly what they were doing.  Although most of these images are decades old, they knew full well how much money gay couples and single gay tourists have poured into the State.

When I was in my late teens, my parents used to rent a house in Florida for a few months each year.  They usually go January through April to escape our snowy winters.  Now these were not family trips, my siblings and I were left at home.  They usually sent with other couples.  Although it was not a kids trip, given I was almost 20, I was allowed to visit, for a short period of time anyway...

I flew down several times for a few days to a week at a time.  The house my parents rented was in Madeira Beach, not exactly a hub of excitement back then.  Usually, I'd spend a day with my parents, then take the bus into Tampa, or the 2 hour ride into Orlando.  Three, I'd visit the parks, and explore sides of myself I wasn't as comfortable to explore at home...

I was still in the closet then, but being in a place so far from home, especially one where no one knew me, I felt free to be myself.  Some of my first same-sex experiences took place in the sunshine state.  For the most part it was just kissing and playing and plenty of dancing.  Still, even dancing back then felt very 'Footloose' like, something forbidden, that I could never do at home.

Hopefully Florida will get it's mojo back, and it's welcoming reputation back, when DeSantis is in the history books. Unlike the history the idiot has tried to erase, his bigotry should be chronicled and remembered.  Florida is one of the most culturally diverse states in the country with vibrant night life in the cities with art, culture and clubs not found anywhere else.

It's also a hub for photography of the male form.  Some of my favorite photographers and models live and work in Florida, and I've been able to feature many shoots of hot men posing in Florida studios and along it's coastline.  Loved diving into these old promotional images and post cards.  If any viewers have more, love to add them in!

Swimsuit Season...

It's always nice when a clothing company uses a little male skin to sell their products.  In this case, the company is Hoshigoru Swimwear and one of the male models, Jakub, (with beard) is 2015's Mister Friendship Czech Republic 2025.

Nap Time...

I'm not sure there's a better visual to sell blankets, than the hot body of the company's founder.  I mean, we all love to cuddle up under a blanket and watch a movie, take a nap, or just fool around.  I know when I was a teen, my girlfriend (yes girlfriend... ) and I, did plenty of things under a blanket.  We did many of those things, while watching movies with my parents sitting just a few feet away.

In this case, the company's founder is Tommy Higham, who is also the creative directo for Lola Blankets.  Said to have 'life-changing' softness.  The #1 blanket in the world is made with an innovative faux fur, and perfect to curl up and cuddle with.  The blankets cost between about $200 and $400 which is worth it, if they're actually that soft.  Still, it's a wee steep unless Tommy comes with the (his) package.

Face Card: Lewis Hamilton

One of the best face cards rounding the track belongs to Lewis Hamilton, Sir Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton to us mere mortals.   The British racing driver competes in Formula One for Ferrari and has won a joint-record seven Formula One World Drivers' Championship titles.

With his stunning face, it was inevitable, some company would want to see what lies below the neck, and get the speedster out of his racing suit.  In this case, it was Tommy Hilfiger, who made Lewis their global brand ambassador.

Pix That Make You Go Hmmm....

I recently saw this add on one of my favorite Instagram's to follow. (HERE:)  I found the ad, and the image really beautiful, powerful and looking back to when it came out, incredibly sad.  The 1984 ad, from LA Cares AIDS campaign, features actress Zelda Rubinstein. In 1984, she was the the central figure in a series of advertisements, directed towards gay men specifically, promoting safer sex and AIDS awareness. Rubinstein did so at risk to her own career, especially so shortly after her rise to fame, and admitted later that she did “pay a price, career-wise.”

“I lost a friend to AIDS, one of the first public figures that died of AIDS,” the actress said in an interview with The Advocate. “I knew it was not the kind of disease that would stay in anybody’s backyard. It would climb the fences, get over the fences into all of our homes. It was not limited to one group of people.” She attended the first AIDS Project Los Angeles AIDS Walk. (Source:Wikipedia)

Better Protected....

'Get Better Protected from Mayhem'

I know I'm not the only one who see's actor Dean Winters in those Allstate and thinks back to his time on OZ.  Dean may cause lots of mayhem in the Allstate ads, but none of it comes close to the mayhem he created as Ryan O'Reily on the HBO drama.

I especially think back to one of my favorite scenes from the episode 'A Word to the Wise.'  In the season 4 episode, Winters as Ryan gives us a great view as he rises from his bunk to look out over the prison though the glass of his cell.  The directors of OZ gave us a lot of great 'through the looking glass' views of the male cast members.

It's also nice to see Dean's real life brother, Scott William Winters, joining him in some of the Allstate ads.  OZ fans will remember that Scott also played Dean's brother Cyril O'Reily on OZ.   Now, if we could only get the show remastered in HD, it's time HBO, it's time!

A Look Back: Packed Lunch

''One day, you're gonna get caught with your pants down'

They don't make commercials like they did in the 90's.  Somehow, advertisers seem to have stopped pushing the boundaries, especially when it comes to showing men and skin.  Maybe it's the fear of the prudes and puritans who'll boycott their products.  It could also be that nudity is common on cable and streaming, making it harder for mainstream commercials to match on a network that can be seen elsewhere.

Many of you have seen this commercial for the Australian men's underwear brand Underdaks. The underwear brand focused it's add on the theme that 'One day, you're gonna get caught with your pants down'.  This ad, titled Packed Lunch, was one of the  most popular, and one of the most controversial at the time of it's release in 1994.

The ad was temporarily banned from Australian TV after a complaint to the Advertising Standards Council made because of one of the last tagline in the ad, 'He's probably gay'. The complaint was later dismissed.  The other taglines, 'Nice luggage, and 'One day, I'm going to get lucky' were also pretty catchy.

The hottie who strips down to his tighty whities is actor Jason Stewart.  Stewart was a model at the time, and from what I've been able to find out, still models and acts.  The only fairly recent image I could find was the second image I included above.
