Seasonal Sightings:

Where's your leaf blower when you need it!  Many of you may recognize Kim, whose frolic in the Garden of Eden with Nico shot by Mark Leighton, headlined my previous Adam & Adam series earlier this month.  Kim's wearing a little more here than he did in the previous piece which you can check out HERE:

Famed fashion photographer Richard Avedon wasn't the first person to shoot a nude model with a snake, but is 1981 shot of model Nastassja Kinski is certainly the most famous, and the most iconic.  Avedon, know for pushing boundaries with his visuals, didn't exactly plan on pushing the limits with his famed shot, but a set of circumstance came together to create the iconic shot.

Miss Piggy

In the 1980's, 1990's and beyond, the shot became one of the most referenced fashion images, although except for a bracelet on Kinski's wrist, there really wasn't much fashion at all.  That lack of fashion might be why the image became one of the most reproduced posters in history, becoming a staple on the walls of college dorm rooms, and the bedrooms of many, both male and female fans of Kinski's beauty and form.

Andrew Matarazzo

Kinski and Avedon originally got together for a two-hour long fashion themed photoshoot.  The shoot was commissioned by US Vogue as a fashion editorial by Diana Freeland.  After what has been described as a rather 'humdrum' first half, resulting in a collection of conventional fashion images, the mood and energy on the set wasn't exactly electric.

Alice Cooper

'According to Vogue stylist Polly Mellen who worked on the shoot, it was Kinski herself who suggested that the addition of a snake would provide an extra punch to the images. This observation came to be something of an understatement, as a huge boa constrictor was brought to the set to lay upon the naked 21-year-old starlet.  Reportedly, after hours of attempting to coax the snake into the ideal positions it finally snaked its way up the young actress’ body with Avedon patiently on hand to capture the split-second perfection of the serpent flicking its tongue into Kinski’s remarkably poised ear.'
Artland Magazine

Nastassja Kinski

'Kinski was completely calm and in control and professional, even as she lay on cold concrete for hours with the snake hooked around her feet.'

Brendan Fraser

Christopher Atkins

The image also became one of the most copied, by celebrities and models.  I mean what other photo can you say was replicated by Alice Cooper, Brendan Fraser and Miss  Piggy.  I think for obvious reasons, some of my favorites are from former teel idol Christopher Atkins.  I remember seeing a shot in an old copy of US Magazine when I was a kid, and have found at least three different shots from the shoot.  Love to know if there were more, as I'm guessing hundreds of shots were taken during the shoot.

Nyle Dimarco

Although the story of Adam and Eve is not present in every variation, the themes of temptation and lust certainly are.  It's interesting that in the Avedon images, the goal was to make Kinski the temptress, totally in control, luring in the snake and not the other way around.

'No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind'
Corinthians 10:13

Although the model and celebrity driven shoots featured in the above post are erotically and artfully stunning, they feature for the most parts, implied nudes.  There are a couple of other shoots that I found, that show a little more 'snake' skin.

The first features adult film star Jessy Ares.  The shoot with photographer Srdjan Milinkovic were taken for European magazines to promote Jessy's album Arestirado Shameless.  Shame and temptation are apart of all our lives at times, and Jessy struggled with many issues involved with his sexuality growing up in a very religious family.

'The shooting with the snake was quite challenging. Especially when it makes best friends with your dick. As far as I know, snakes are almost blind and can only see warmth. So I guess it thought my cock was a fellow-friend of his species …hahaha… it just went for my dick…. all the time…. and it wrapped it´s self around it and started squeezing it 😉'

It's a wrap!  Take one look at our Man for March, and you know this is the genuine article...the real thing!  A man who knows virtually no fear, whether confronting the beasts of the jungle...or the mighty beast within.  Dynamic, dark-haired Damian Achilles self-mockingly describes his penetrating eyes as 'bogus blue.'

Damian is remarkably articulate, particularly when the topic of conversation turns to women and romance.  Damian says he respects the personal, one-to-one emotions of making love with someone special.  Asked about his favorite location for what he consider the 'ultimate' workout, he's quick to note that he usually prefers a secluded, private venue.  He his however susceptible to spontaneous arousal, and the great outdoors can be exhilarating in moments of passion.  Hmmm, could such a spontaneous arousal be Damian's Achilles heel???

Snake Handler: Anthony by Mount Photography

'They will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.'
Mark 16:18

It was back in 2009 when I first discovered and featured the work of photographer Mark Montovio from Mount Photography.  Since then, I've been fortunate to have featured Mark's work over 20 times.  You can check all of the previous pieces on FH HERE:.  I love how Mark views and captures and the male form.  There's a unique elegance and flow in Mark's work that always stands out for me.

I first featured images from this series back in 2013. (HERE:) This was one of my favorite shoots of Mark's to feature, and is also one of Mark's favorites as well. You can certainly see and feel that flow in this series with Anthony, and with Mowgli, the beautiful Albino Burmese Python he's posing with.  Anthony had little experience with snakes, especially one slithering over and around his naked body. Despite that, both human and reptile look really natural posing together.

Although Anthony did enjoy his posing partner, given their reputation, he did have some questions. Python's have sharp rearward-pointing teeth which they use seize prey.  They then coil their body around what they've captured, squeezing a little tighter with each exhale until their prey suffocates.  Mark assured Anthony although he may get a little squeeze, all of Anthony's anatomy was safe from harm.

'Anthony was fascinated when the python stuck out its tongue - you can see in some of the pics I think - and I had to assure him that the snake was just checking him out and not getting ready for a snack. Of course the Python got a chance to check out every bit of Anthony as snakes love to do!'
