Thrilled To Death

I have been featuring Halloween themed posts and stories since I began FH back in 2007. My favorite photo shoots are story driven and for most of us, so many of our stories have occurred on or surrounding holiday's, especially when we were younger. I have been very fortunate to have had many amazing artists contribute their Halloween themed imagery to FH and since discovering his work back in 2012, Frisky Frolic has been a part of almost every FH Holiday's since.

It started with a google search. 'Naked Ghost' were the words I put in the search box. Not sure what expected to find really. There was of course that image we've all scene of the guy with a ghost costume over his penis. There were a few shots from the 1981 movie Ghost Story where a naked man fell from a high building. Nothing really popped up (except that penis) until I moved my searching to flickr.

It was there I found my ghost, the naked one at the top of this piece. I knew intimately I need to feature JayBee's images and sent him off an e-mail right away. JayBee got back to me right away, eager for the exposure and supportive of my sharing his work. That Halloween I featured two pieces featuring his work, the Ghost themed piece, The Phantom Phallus as well as a second feature, Black On Black, featuring a tight black rubber suit in need of being peeled off the model underneath.

Since then, every Halloween, every Christmas and every Easter, JayBee has generously shared his holiday themed images. This year, due to a move, JayBee hadn't had time to complete a new shoot. This ended up being particularly fortunate. Without a new shoot to feature, JayBee dug back into his archives to find Halloween and costume inspired images which he welcomed me to use.

Now... I am not sure he expected me to use almost all of them, but a post became a day of posts celebrating the work of Frisky Frolic. With all of the work he has shared, I felt it time JayBee had his own FH category, so if you missed any of my past features, check them all out HERE:

Frisky Frolic: Of Young Mice & Older Men

Photographers often seem to have a type. Some like to shoot younger models, some older models, some like lean models or muscled men. Many prefer blondes, gingers or men of a certain ethnicity. The images from Frisky Frolic's JayBee do of course have some similarities. They are always astoundingly creative and consistently colorful and vibrant. As far as models go however, there is almost nothing homogeneous about the men JayBee picks to step in front of his lens.

These two sets beautifully illustrate this point. I am not sure you can have two more different model with two more different themes. Our young mouse Mickey having fun in front of the camera for a Halloween shoot JayBee shot last fall. Then we have Bucephalus, our Greek God, stoic and serious, his eyes holding years of battles, wins and defeats. many loves and great sadness and loss.  Two very different men in two very different environments.  Both men however are equally alluring, equally sexy and both equally and strongly desirable.

'Bucephalus is always so gracious to get naked for the Frisky Frolic camera.'

Frisky Frolic: Imaginary Heroes

'I'm loyal to nothing, General.. except the Dream.'
Captain America

Captain America

Further to the point that Frisky Frolic doesn't have a type I bring you JayBee's Imaginary Heroes. Imaginary because JayBee's versions of these two iconic characters come from his creative mind, his camera, two willing models and a few cans of paint. There may have been a time a black Captain America or a male Wonder Woman may have been unthinkable, but today... except for those actually thinking of voting for Trump, both are not only possible, but wonderfully real.

Wonder Woman

'Just wondering... If my body was the last thing you saw, ever, would it be worth it?'
Diana of Themyscira

I have featured many Superheroes over the years, but given my 'hunk' theme, JayBee's is my first Wonder Woman. The detail of the painting, down to her/his feet is incredible. This Diana Prince, with the exception of a couple of props, was created almost entirely by JayBee's shots, some paint, and the enthusiasm of the man underneath it.

Emulation: Cody by Frisky Frolic

Ok, so you're a photographer, and your focus... the male form You have a studio booked and you have the incredibly hot Cody coming in, ready to take off all of his clothing and get naked and pose for your creative ideas and concepts. Would most choose to shoot Cody as a Gladiator and a Football fan?

I am not sure any other photographer of the male form would have chosen photographed the incredible Cody this way, I am not sure any really could. I can only imagine, (and lets all stop...and do just that) all of the ways, poses and scenarios many photographers would have Cody be a part of. Given those incredible muscles, I am sure many would photograph him flexing and posing in some classic fitness and physique stances.

Given Cody's man enticing assets, I can only imagine some of the other suggestions coming his way for shots. It's not that JayBee doesn't appreciate those assets, he captured them perfectly. JayBee however, doesn't focus on them, instead he uses them, along with Cody's personality to create fun, unique and erotically charged images that not evoke both erotic stimulation and enthusiastic joy.

This combination, joy with stimulation and of course creativity and storytelling is one of the reasons JayBee's work is so special. I have talked before how I dabbled in photography before giving it up for my current career. Mostly friends weddings, friends kids and friends pets. If I had continued and pursued shooting the male form, I would like to think I would be creating images as creatively outstanding as JayBee's.

I can't help but think that JayBee's excitement at discussing his concept with Cody, then showing him the Gladiator outfit and football hat and scarf would be welcoming to a model, especially one about to get naked. I would think it would be comforting to have an artist wanting to create something, a character or a story. I would think it would be welcomed more than what nude models must hear often, 'Can you bend over or make it look a bit bigger.' I am thinking of a changing careers in the next year and am hoping I might get find out for myself. I have a big old barn that someone keeps telling me needs to be photographed.
