Gourdness Gracious!

'Our yearly tradition - Find the Largest Pumpkin in the Pumpkin Patch!  since we moved to California from Utah is to visit the Carlsbad Strawberry Company Pumpkin Patch every Halloween season for this adventure!'

One of the best parts of Autumn is heading to the pumpkin patch to pick out your pumpkin.  Shame on any of you who pick up your pumpkins at the grocery store.  First off, they're usually over priced, and secondly, there's nothing like walking through the isle of a pumpkin patch looking for just the right gourd to grab.

Of course choosing what to grab is made easier if you're looking for large, round ripe pumpkins with KC and Jax.  I been following the work of KC_Jaye (fitnessfreak_unleashed) for awhile now, and always enjoy following his adventures on social media.

KC and Jax were not just looking for the best shaped pumpkin, but the largest as well!  I wonder if they have more than carving in mind..  Anyhoo, the real fun starts once they get that pumpkin home.  No one can deny that KC gives good gourd!

FaVorites: Antonio Cupo

Born in Vancouver, the handsome Canadian Italian Antonio Cupo began acting in plays and school productions when he was just six years old.   Cupo's professional career began when he cast in Hollywood Files in 2005.  Cupo has starred in projects in America, as well as taking on leading roles in Italian film and television projects.

In addition to his roles in several Hallmark movies, American viewers might know Cupo from his role as John in the Lifetime remake of the film Beaches starring Nia Long and Idina Menzel.

As stated, I first caught eye of a young Cupo in the pilot of the original The L Word.  His role as Beck was brief, but memorable. (Check out the scene below)   Poor Beck quickly realizes, that regardless of how hot he is, being the only male in a threesome with two lesbians, doesn't usually end up being that satisfying.

Peaches & Creamed

'The corn is as high as an elephant's eye,
An' it looks like it's climbin' clear up to the sky'

Living in the country, I've grown to both love and loath cornfields.  I love them, as their visual beauty is spectacular with their tall stalks which turn from lush green to a bleached golden as the season starts to wane.  I love walking in cornfields, and have been through many a corn maze.

The part I dislike is the crowds that pour in during the Autumn holiday season.  City dwellers head to the country each weekend to buy fresh fruit and vegetables and to pick out a pumpkin.  They like a day at the winery, and bring their kids to play in the corn mazes, and visit the farm animals.

For me, this means for much of October and November, in my small town that's usually pretty quiet, it's bumper to bumper traffic, with people form the city and tourists looking for a taste of country during harvest.   The only good thing is that's it's temporary, by the time December comes around, the visitors decrease, with far fewer visitors arriving for Christmas craft fairs and winter festivals.

One of these days, I'm going to pick up my camera again, and do a shoot myself for FH.  When I do,  I'm going to find just the right model and head out to a cornfield.  You can't match the natural background in a studio, and the Autumn emotions only a cool, crisp day in the country can provide.  Sorry, I know this post is a little corny, but I couldn't help myself, it shucks!

This corn will teach to you, should you peel away the husk, and be willing to open your ears.
