'I Loved it from start, and was always great seeing the work that artists would create in such a short period of time.'
After my piece on life drawing models the other day, (
HERE:) timing is perfect to introduce
FH viewers to Tom! I saw some of Tom's images on Model Mayhem and really was taken with the beauty of his classic and elegant poses. As you can see, Tom has a fit, long and lean physique, and his poses and movement, along with the skill and lighting by photographer
Nathan Archer, created a striking set of visuals.
Posing nude wasn't actually a huge stretch for the Australian based model. Growing up in a family focused on beauty and the arts, creating is in Tom's blood, and a core part of who he is. Tom has been creating all of his life, but began his modeling journey about five years ago by posing for Life Drawing art classes around his home in Perth. After posing for dozens of classes, Tom wanted to expand on his skill set and gain further experience, by trying other forms of modeling.
'I'm hoping to gain some further experience and activities in modelling for Photography. While I have done a reasonable amount of modelling for life drawing, I am currently less experienced in the Photography field, though always hoping to learn and improve. Keen to have a go at a wide variety of different modelling styles.'
Tom sought out photographers on-line, which led to his connecting with Nathan Archer. Given he other career obligations, Tom's modeling is more a passionate hobby, and something he loves to do when he was the time to fit in shoots, classes and projects. Luckily, he and Nathan's schedules lined up, and they were able to get together for a shoot.
What made you start with art classes?
I knew of life drawing classes as family is quite involved in arts. Thought I'd give a try as have a dance background and thought I could do some fairly dynamic poses.
How nervous were before that first class?
The first class was relatively small, didn't really find it intimidating at all. I Loved it from start, and was always great seeing the work that artists would create in such a short period of time.
How did you move from posing for art classes to modeling for photographers?
I did some of the photography modelling more just to try it. The photoshoot with Nathan along the lines of one I was really keen to try. I greatly enjoyed it and am very happy with how the photos turned out.
Were you nervous at all about sharing your nudes on-line?
No, my family is aware of my modelling and I have shown them some of the images.
What has your MM experience been like, any odd or strange requests?
I've enjoyed being on Model Mayhem. Have got some paid work from it too which is a bit of a bonus. No super weird requests, though I'm pretty open so keen on trying new things.
Do you have a dream scenario for a shoot?
Not sure what my dream shoot would be. Maybe some outdoor style ones would be cool.
What is your favorite part about modeling?
My favorite part of the modelling is really seeing the end products. For the drawing in particular it can be really cool as you can end up with so many interpretations just from one pose.
