A Deluxe Apartment In The Sky:

R.I.P Sherman Hemsley

As a kid I loved Hemsley's Amen which led me to The Jeffersons on DVD years later. George and Weezie always could be counted on for a laugh. They also headlined the longest running sit-com in television history featuring a mostly African American cast.

Just Because: Sebastian Stan

I have always loved Sebastian Stan, but as Thomas Hammond in Political Animals, he is really knocking it out of the park. Sigourney Weaver's speech about what he went through being the first openly gay child of a President was very powerful.

Tyler-B-Shields By Scott Barnes

23 year old Tyler calls himself a small town country boy who enjoys riding horses, riding bicycles, canoeing, watching movies, hanging with friends, working out, and being out in the sun. I am not sure if his use of bicycles can be stretched to include motor cycles, but when I saw this set of shots from Scott Barnes I wanted to include them on the blog.

I love to feature the work of Indianapolis photographer Scott Barnes and can't believe this is the first appearance of his work on FH this year! After spending some time on his blog and site this week, I hope the latter part of 2012 will have much more of Scott's work. I love this series, but I encourage you all to check out more of Scott's work with Tyler on Scott's site Vir Impudicus. Believe me, these shots are tame in comparison (Check out Tyler near the bottom of the Erotica section).

Current Crush: Chris Messina in Damages

I have written before about my love for the Glenn Close drama Damages. Because it is not a network show, I choose to watch Damages over a week or so each year when the previous season is released on DVD. This means I am always a season behind (the fifth and final season just began airing with Ryan Phillippe.)

One of the things I love best about Damages is it's incredible casting. Besides series regulars Close, Rose Bryne and my favorite Zachary Booth, the cast has welcomed some of the best stage and screen actors in the business. Over the past few seasons Damages has provided a stage for the talents of Lily Tomlin, Martin Short, Ted Danson, William Hurt, Marcia Gay Harden, Anastasia Griffith, Michael Nouri, Timothy Olyphant, Campbell Scott, Zeljko Ivanek, Noah Bean, Peter Facinelli, Ben Shenkman, Darrell Hammond and Judd Hirsch.

The season I am watching, the shows fourth, brings in Dylan Baker, John Goodman and one of my favorite actors Chris Messina. Originally a stage actor, I have loved Messina since first seeing him on Six Feet Under more than a few years ago. Messina's Damages character Chris Sanchez is often difficult to watch.

Sanchez is superb as Sandchez, heartbreaking and proud, working through post traumatic stress syndrome from his time working for the private military company High Star. I am on a few episodes in, but already Messina has me rooting for the safe return home for his character. Up next for Messina, next seasons The Mindy Project.
