I know there have always been homoerotic elements to wresting, the tight outfits. The men in tight singlets, twisting their sweaty bodies together. But team picture day seems to really lean into the theme... Maybe it's just me, but the poses seem more in line with a Sean Cody promotional shoot than a promotional sports shot.
I'm guess this cutie from the Northern Iowa team was wanting to show of his arm tattoo. A little confusing as it appears to be a Lion, and the teams mascot is a panther. The tattoo pose I get, but I curious if it was the wrester himself, or someone else, who suggested the white cowboy hat? The hat pushes over the edge for me. In a good way of course! 😜
