Quaternate: Chris Teel
When I think of favorite Canadian photographers of the male form, the first name that comes to mind is Chris Teel. I have featured Chris' work more than any other Canadian artist, more than almost any other artist for that matter. Starting back in 2009, Chris and I have collaborated on over 75 pieces, all of which are linked below. We also worked together on 2011's Model search which saw Matt Eldracher taking the crown. I originally did a Quaternate piece featuring Chris' work back in 2016, but it really needed an update!

The Power of the Pubes:
Like everything celebrity related, crotch shots have changed through the years. Most of the images shown, like with actor Ryan Kwanten, (above) were taken early, pre-thespian and pre--celebrity. They were shot on an actor's way up, as a way to gain the public's attention. Some are early modeling shots, other, promotional shots in Men's fashion and lifestyle magazines.

Like non-celebrity men, celebrity pubic hair followed the trends. There seemed to more shots of full bushes shot in the 90's. Although some men always 'trimmed' the trend to manscape down to the bare skin didn't really take off until the 2000's. If you look back on Playgirl centerfolds in the 70's and 80's, it would have been shocking to see a man without a full bush.

Most of the actors shown here gave us a pubic peak in posed for shots for magazines. A few, took some succulent pubic focused selfies. Most of those were to garner a bit of buzz, even if only for a few days. Some, like the images at the very bottom, were shot by photographers or b paparazzi at shows or events. Some seemed staged while others appear more accidental.

I deliberately choose not to use any 'caps' from movie or television shows. So many actors gave us a pubic peek for a role or film, I wanted however, to focus on crotch cleavage in images only. I also found so many, I left off most music groups, maybe for a future post.
Lenny Kravitz 
I also believe, that mirroring public opinion on male skin, there were more celebrities showing pubic hair from countries where male nudity is not something to be frightened of. In addition to musicians, who tend to be more free spirited, there seemed to be more celebrities from Mexico, Spain and other parts of Europe. Some American actors, like Keanu Reeves, thankfully bucked the norm.
