He had the brightest smile...
Like all relationships, sometimes the ones between photographers and models are like ships that pass in the night. So close, yet oh so far away. Over the years of working on
FH I've heard so many stories from models and photographers about possible shoots that never came to be. Sometimes because of scheduling conflicts, other times due to travel and work commitments. Sometimes, however, its destiny, even when the the photographer and model live in different countries and on separate continents.
Photographer
Frank Joseph first met Teban about two years, but online, not in person. Still, they chatted for awhile, forming a connection. Frank however, was living in Miami and Teban was based in Bogota, Columbia. Months later however, Frank planned a trip to Columbia for research, and a tentative plan was made to meet up. Turns out, the timing was all wrong, and although the ships came close, they were not able to meet up.
That research Frank was doing however, proved to be a bit of lighthouse, leading them to eventually connect. Earlier this year, Frank ended up moving to Columbia. He'd been planning on moving for awhile, the goal, to join a program teaching English as a foreign language in another country. Frank had already completed his TEFL certification, and it was now time to choose a place to practice. There were two openings in Columbia, one in Bogota, the other in Pereira.
Since he'd already done his research, Frank decided on Bogota. Frank had enjoyed his previous visit, and was familiar with the area, and had made a few connections. It didn't have anything to do with Teban, especially since they never met, but he and Teban had stayed in touch, and Frank hoped once he got settled, they might finally meet up and shoot. There were still rough seas however, keeping these two ships apart just a little while longer.
After Frank arrived and got settled in Columbia, he and Teban made tentative plans to meet. Still, issues around and they were still both missing the mark when it came to scheduling. Frank was beginning to think they'd never meet, when out of the blue, Teban called and asked if Frank was free the next day. Frank quickly said yes, then remembered a previous commitment, and had to back out.
As soon as he backed out, Frank knew he made a mistake, especially given how many 'almost' meet-ups and shoots had fallen through. Frank reorganized his thinking, rescheduled his other commitment, and texted Teban back that he was free to meet. Frank wanted to make their first creative encounter simple, so planned that shoot at his condo, using just the bed and shower as locations.
'Meeting Teban did not disappoint. He had the brightest smile I'd seen since arriving here.'
I'm guessing Teban's incredible smile, and magnificent butt have drawn focus for many FH viewers. If you check out the minimal bits of fashion Teban is wearing, you might notice most of them began as yarn. The beautiful sweater Teban is wearing, as well as the hat and thong, were all made by hand by Frank. In addition to photography, another of Frank's passion is knitting, and often creates unique hand pieces for his models to wear. Frank sometimes gifts these to the models, and also sells his creations on-line to raise money to support animal adoptions.
