Don’t be a punk! Recycle your junk!
People don't necessarily think of garbage as sexy, but garbage men certainly can be! The garbage industry has become so much more than trash. Going green means that in many places, the science of recycling has become an intracule part of waste management.
I remember when I got my first apartment. My small balcony was attached to the couple who lived next door. I worked nights, and was often home during the day and noticed they spent every afternoon soaking up the sun on their balcony.
Over time I got to know them a little and learned that she was a waitress and he was a garbage man. He loved his job. Although he had a general arts degree from college, he said he wouldn't leave his job for anything. He worked 6a.m to 2p.m, Tuesday through Friday. This meant his weekends started shortly after lunch on Fridays and didn't end until early Tuesday morning.
He also shared that because of how physical his job was, he never had to exercise or go to the gym. It paid off as he was occasionally shirtless when it was really hot and humid. His girlfriend switched from dinner, to breakfast shifts so they were both home in the afternoons and evenings. He ended up moving out after she found out he was cheating, but most of the relationships we have in our twenties end up as trash.
