My Three (not blond) Sons

'I may have lost an eye, but I gained a dragon.'
Aemond Targaryen

FH readers may remember I posted quite a bit about Game Of Thrones.  I loved the show, the characters, and scenes of male skin.  It's taken me a little longer to get into House of Dragon.  I started it awhile ago, but only just finished season 2.  Although I like it, I just don't find it as compelling as it's predecessor.  I was instantly drawn into the Stark family in the pilot of Game Of Thrones, but it's taken me a little longer to invest in the characters in House Of Dragon.

 Ty Tennant

That being said, I have invested in the show, especially the female characters including; Rhaenyra, Alicent and especially Rhaenys.  I've also enjoyed the skin, shown especially by the Alicent's boys of blond.  Of course, checking out the actors headshots, it wasn't surprising to learn that none of them are really blond.  As much as this show can make me believe in dragons, it sadly is still pretty bad when it comes to the wigs they put on their actors.

Actor Tye Tennant played Prince Aegon Targaryen in two episodes of the first season of the show.  Thus far, the Prince has been played by three actors.  As much I understand aging the characters, it's one of the reasons it's more difficult to invest.  Game of Thrones grew with it's actors, and we saw the Stark's age, just like the actors, over the shows run.  I sort of wish House of Dragon had done the same.  Of course we needed one change, as they were babies int he beginning, but one cast change should have really been enough.

Tom Glynn-Carney

Tom Glynn-Carney took over the role of Prince Aegon Targaryen at the end of season one, and has played the role, now a king, since.  I like Tom in the role, yet dislike how both how the writers are trying to write both Targaryen brothers as if they're two sides of King Joffrey.  There was only one Joffrey, and some scenes with the Targaryen's seem too much like a 'cut and paste' job.  It was interesting that both of the actors who play the prince had their nude scenes with their mother.

Although his wig made it clear Tom wasn't a blond, we saw darker hair, and more of his beautiful bum, in the first episode of the historical drama Domina. (below)

Ewan Mitchell

Ewan Mitchell plays Prince Aemond Targaryen and he had the shows only full frontal thus far, from one of the shows principal actors.  I struggle with Ewan as Aemond as he looks almost exactly one of my best friends, their facial structure is identical.  I do applaud his nude scene, especially after reading an interview about how important it was for him for the scene to be authentic, and assured viewers that it was all him.
