Burgeoning: Sergey & Anthony by Richard Rothstein

'Our life is March weather, savage and serene in one hour.'
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Although winter hasn't quite loosened her grip, with spring about 10 days away, we're all in the process of coming out of our seasonal siesta.  Signs of spring are in the air, and our bodies are craving sunlight and fresh air.  With the world experiencing a serious health crisis, it may tempting to extend our winter hibernation, but even if it's just your yard, porch, or the roof of your building, the outside world awaits.

For the last several months, most of my artist and model features have been studio shoots.  Except for the odd model brave enough to strip naked in the snow, I try to visually follow the seasons as much as possible with the blog.  Each season has not only it's own unique visuals, they also have their own distinct color palette, feel and energy.  With spring just around the corner, I'm looking forward to bidding adieu to winter.

I can't think of a better way to celebration the beginnings of spring awakenings, then heading back up  to the roof with Richard Rothstein's images of Anthony and Sergey.   Richard actually sent on this incredible series last year, but I tucked it away until we were on the verge of seeing and experiencing the burgeoning signs of spring.

FH has joined Richard Rothstein on his building's rooftop for many shoots, but this one with Anthony and Sergey is one of my favorites.  I love the energy and erotic intensity Richard captured and the incredible movements and poses that Anthony and Sergey create.

Richard has photographed Sergey in many duo shoots and I'm always amazed at the chemistry Sergey generates with whomever he's shooting with.  Sergey and Anthony generate so many emotions and their rooftop dance is like a ballet filled with passion, lust and an almost erotically aggressive pull and tug.

It almost feels that although their two bodies want, and need to be together, there is a realization the relationship is nearing an end.  There's almost a desperation, a knowing of the truth, in their minds anyway.  Their bodies however, are not ready to accept it.
