Lights On Studio: Cottontails

Hansel

'I have used bunnies, chicks, and ducks every year when I used to photograph children for an Easter Kids Photo special.'

Benjamin

It has become a holiday tradition at FH to feature the work of Lights On Studio photographer Tom Nakielski.  This is especially true at Easter!  Over the last few years, Tom's has brought together models and Barnyard animals for some fun and joyous Easter themed shoots.  Model Hansel Wellington with Chester the bunny in 2018,  (HERE:) and last year, Benjamin, along with four adorable baby chicks. (HERE:)

Tom seems to be almost a barnyard animal whisperer, well, except maybe with the turkey, that Tom found for last years 'almost' Thanksgiving shoot...   Some of you may know that Tom, the photographer not the turkey, has been out of commission the last few months.  An accident left his arm and hand in a cast, making it impossible to shoot.  I wasn't however going to let an Easter pass without spotlighting his work.

'The kids loved the chicks They do however poop a lot... (the chicks not the kids). It is impossible to keep their pen (a cardboard box) clean. Just as soon as I would change the water, they would walk through it and dirty it up.'

Given the last two years included four chicks and bunny, I asked Tom if he might have any 'behind the scenes' shots with the animals acting up.  Given they're strategically placed on and over a model's naked body, I wondered if there might have been any... .well, incidents.  Chicks jumping off backsides, bunnies nibbling on carrot shaped body parts...

'The bunny was very well behaved although I thought he would jump off the table a few times, but I made sure he didn't take a leap of faith or anything! '

'Benjamin was a very cooperative model. He had no qualms about the chicks on his butt and enjoyed the experience working with them. He didn't say how it felt to have them on his butt, but it took a lot of tries to get the chicks to stay in place. They kept jumping out of the basket and it was very hard to get them posed nicely on his butt. Wish I would have tried a few more times to get them in a better position, but I didn't want to spend too much time placing chickens on Benjamin's butt LOL'

Unfortunately Tom shared the bunny and chicks were exceptional models, with almost perfect poses.  Tom did send along a few extra shots from the shoots, which I mixed in with a few of my favorites from the previous posts.  Although chicks seem perfectly perched, there is a shot of the bunny on Hansel's butt that looks like he picked up the scent of something unfamiliar...
