I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can

The Facts of Life
I'm Dancing as Fast as I can
Original Airdate: November 9th, 1983

The Doctor

The headliner at the strip show Mrs. Garrett and the girls attend is Doctor Love.  If you saw the episode you know the doctor is Blair's boyfriend Cliff, who is working his way through medical school by stripping.  Unfortunately, he failed to tell Blair who finds out when he takes off his medical mask.

The good doctor is  played by actor Woody Brown who played Cliff on 5 episodes of the NBC sit-com. Brown worked steadily on television in the 1980's, most notably his stint on the short lived prime-time soap Flamingo Road.   Brown seems to have left the business after a short stint as Pete on Roswell in 2002.

During his time in the business, Woody did a bit of modeling, like the image below from After Dark Magazine. (Woody is the blond in the stocking on the right).  Woody also did several softcore films, including one in which we get a peek at his woody wood pecker.  You can check out my previous post featuring Woody, with clips and caps from his work on FH HERE:

The Waiter

Other than Cliff, the strip club employee who got the most screen time was the girls server. Actor Larry Poindexter played Ken, the hot and hairy waiter who brings Mrs. Garret both a birthday cake, and the small 'hunk' she orders to drink.  I've featured Larry several times on FH, and like Woody, was in a number of softcore films.  Also like Woody, we got a wee peek at Poindexter's penis in one of his films.  Check out those posts on FH HERE:

The Maitre d'

We didn't see much of the hot Maitre d' who welcomed the girls and took them to their table, but we saw enough to be interested.  The Maitre d' was played by Dan Peterson who worked for Chippendales in the 1980's.  I couldn't find any images of Dan dancing, but did find a few images from the shows promotional calendars.

The Cowboy

The cowboy, whose strip we see a bit of in the episode, was also played by former Chippendale dancer Read Scot.  I couldn't find many images of Read from his Chippendales days, but if you search his name with Chippendales, a story from People Magazine comes up.  The stories focus is on how Read survived a murder plot hatched by his former Chippendales box.

Officer Bob

Sadly, we don't get to see Officer Bob dance on the show, just his bow at the end of his routine.  Officer Bob was played by Hodari Sababu who was also a Chippendales dancer.  I again, couldn't find much about Hodari on-line, but he is credited on IMDB as being featured in the A & E documentary, Secrets of the Chippendales Murders.

Firemen Freddie

Fireman Freddie was also played by an actual stripper and a Playgirl model. Roger Menache played the fireman who does his high kicks in a hot red speedo.  Menache was featured in hte January 1980 issue of Playgirl featuring 'The New Burlesque' in a pictorial featuring dancers from Male Strip Clubs.
