Do what they say, say what they mean

With Packer in Can't Hurry Love (1988)
Earlier this year, I featured actor David Packer's embarrassment nude scene from the the film
You Can't Hurry Love. (
HERE:) My watching the 1988 comedy was sort of fluke as it came on the same DVD as
Love Hurts, the DVD I purchased from Amazon for the
Actors & Skin feature I was working on for actor Jeff Daniels.
Scott with Sarah Jessica Parker
When watching
You Can't Hurry Love, I couldn't help but notice one of David's gorgeous co-stars, actor Scott McGinnis. I hadn't heard the name, but I did recognize the face, and the 80's feathered, fluffed and moussed hair, from Scott's work in 80's film and television, including favorite 80's films I'd watched on VHS including
Racing With The Moon and as Mr. Adventure in
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.
McGinnis is one of those talented actors who played a variety of roles, both leading and character parts (he played an especially effective upper crust frat boy) throughout his far too short career in front of the camera. From tv shows like
The Facts of Life and
Lou Grant, through big screen leading roles in horror, comedy and dramatic films thoughout the eighties.
Unfortunately, as it did for so many actors who hit it big in the eighties, but the early nineties, the parts were fewer and far between and the prerequisite 'near the
end of career' turns on
Murder She Wrote was one of Scott's last roles. Scott then moved behind the camera, producing and directing and directed TV shows including
Angel and the TV version of
Honey I Shrunk the Kids and films including
Last Gasp with actor Robert Patrick from Terminator fame.
Scott by Barry King
With Judd Nelson & Dana Olsen in Making the Grade (1984)
Wacko (1982)
With C. Thomas Howell, Kelly Preston & a pre-college scandal Aunt Beckie in Secret Admirer (1985)
Scott as Mr. Adventure in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock
A more recent shot of Scott, looking hotter than ever!
Joysticks (1983)
Although I don't think Scott did any nude scenes, (sadly none that I could find) the closest I could find was a shirtless and boxer shorts scene from the 1983 film
Joysticks.
Joysticks focused on the rise of video games, pac-man being the biggest at the time. Like so many comedy's in the early 80's, although there were more than a few opportunities for showing a little skin, it was only the female actors who were required to show it all.
