Sniff: Unwashed & Unashamed

'Provocative, visceral, and unapologetically queer, SNIFF is more than a magazine — it’s a movement. A tactile, visual rebellion inviting readers to step inside the world of artists who live, create, and lust without compromise.'

The Male Muse Publishing launches the new magazine SNIFF: a new frontier in queer art and fetish culture. SNIFF follows the format to Inspiró,, (which I previously featured HERE:) but exclusively focuses on mixing queer art with fetish themes SNIFF is a bold, subversive publication blurring the line between queer fine art and fetish culture. Conceived as a sanctuary for uncensored queer expression in a world still policed by censorship and conformity, SNIFF celebrates artists who work fearlessly in the erotic underground.

I never thought of myself as someone especially drawn to fetish or fetish culture, but the second I saw the cover and promo images for SNIFF, a pleasurable, but risky memory came to mind.  I was about 15, and hanging out with a group of guys at a friend's house.  I had a crush on the guy who lived there, but was still deep in the closet.  During a break in video game playing, I headed to the bathroom, passing the guy's room on the way.

I didn't plan it, I didn't even really think about it, but on the way back to the living room, I darted into his room and shut the door.  I reached into his clothes hamper, picked up a pair of his dirty underwear and shoved them hard into my face.  They smelled like heaven.  I quickly shoved them back into the hamper, and went back into the living room, positive I was bright red and that everyone would notice.

No one did of course, and I began thinking about returning to the room and taking those underwear home with me.  I didn't get the chance, that day at least, but I did eventually end up with a different pair of his worn undies a month or so later....

I guess I've always had a bit of fetish for the aroma of guys I liked.  I think it started with all those hours in the locker room when I played hockey.  The smell, even today, brings back memories and pleasure.  I think we all take risks when we're teens, and sexuality experimenting as figure out who we are.  So many of us sadly, stop taking risks, and chose safety over danger when we get older.  Fetish in many ways, is holding on to that sexual excitement that was so chancing, but thrilling.

Each issue of SNIFF features a curated blend of photography, painting, illustration, and other experimental modalities, revealing the raw and unfiltered beauty of desire in all its forms — from bondage and role play to fetish gear, sneakers, and the worship of feet.  Scent One, the debut issue, includes exclusive interviews with two unique voices in contemporary fetish culture: Spanish fetish photographer Abraham Saraya, and Master Bearded Koldo, a respected figure within leather and BDSM communities.

The issue also features three original pieces of queer erotica by author Lawrence Schimel and multi disciplinary artist J Davies, expanding SNIFF’s storytelling into intimate narrative and literary seduction.  SNIFF, Scent One has been released in both print and digital formats. The digital edition is expanded with over 100 additional images — content considered too explicit, too raw, or simply too hot for print, offering a deeper and wilder dive into the magazine’s erotic visual world.  You can check out and purchase the print issue HERE: and the expanded digital issue HERE:

Tim Parise: The Exhibitionist Expeditioner

One of the joys of FH for me, is following the work of artist's I admire.  Given the site has been around for awhile, there are some models and photographers I've been featuring for over a decade.  Model Tim Parise is one of those artists.  I first reached out to Tim on Model Mayhem back in 2014 after seeing his work with photographers Mike Tossy and Mark from StudioMGPhotography.  Although Tim enjoyed his experiences shooting nude, I caught him at time he had other creative ventures he was working on.

In that first feature, (HERE:) the focus was Tim's work as both a model and author.  Although we did not spotlight full nudes in that initial piece, I did include some of Tim's famous speedo shots that I know many of you have seen and enjoyed. Since then, I had the pleasure of featuring Tim's work numerous times, most notably, his creative collaborations with photographer Gordon Nebeker.

Gordon is one of my favorite photographers and contributors, and he and Tim have worked together numerous time. (see them all on FH HERE:)  Gordon has shot Tim sprawled over furniture, in the deep end of the pool, and in a sensual couples shoot for the book Love in the Afternoon.  The last time I featured Tim's work with Gordon, Tim was balancing on a step-ladder, completely nude of course, helping Gordon trim his Christmas tree.

I recently went back to Tim with a proposal for a new piece.  This time, asking him to share some of his favorite shots from some recent shoots.  I had seen a shot of Tim, with model DW Chase on another site, and again, Tim, along with W, was standing naked on a ladder.  Tim sent along a large selection of images, but I decided to focus on three of his favorite shoots.  The first two, and last two images in this piece are self-portraits taken by Tim.  In-between, some of my favorite shots from the shoots Tim sent on.

'My work with Tim is always very collaborative and challenging because he has definite ideas of what he wants and what he will allow to be shown for his “brand”. He always inspires me and I’m grateful for every opportunity I have to work with him.'

~Tim's Thoughts & Tenets~

Do you prefer shooting self-shots, or with another photographer?
Usually I prefer working with another photographer or at least a friend to help out. It makes it a lot easier to get daring nudes in nature and public places that way, and you also get a wider variety of shooting styles and approaches to photography to help keep things interesting.

When you see an image of yourself, what do you think makes it 'memorable or a favorite'?
Uniqueness most of all, followed by the aesthetics of the composition. I like doing the unusual, but I also want it to be beautifully unusual, and photos that meet both those criteria are much more likely to be favorites. There's one shot of me hiking naked in Canyonlands National Park where I'm leaping from boulder to boulder beneath a rock cleft just as the sun framed in the cleft created a light effect that looks like a butterfly. The memorable shots may be different; those may be the ones that have a story attached to them of what happened during or after the shoot.

What made the images from Michael favorites?
The places we've gotten to in them! Midgley Bridge had been one of my goals for a shooting location since I moved to Sedona, and I love the shot where I'm swinging from the tree above West Sedona, giving an effective counter to the somnolence and timidity of all those retirees in the town down below. And the lotus pose in the rocks came out absolutely gorgeous.

What was your favorite part about working with Michael?
He's always wanting to explore new places and that gets us to locations I haven't found before sometimes, even in relatively nearby areas, and it's that exploring that I'd say results in our best shots.

When you do self portraits, how much do you plan, or how much do you go with the moment?
The expedition to go out and get them is usually planned; the details of the shoot less so. I may have a particular rock formation or angle in mind to work with, but how the final shot is composed depends on what I see when I get out into the forest.

Would you say your main goal is pose or body, or are you trying to capture a feeling or the spirit of the location or day?
My main goal is to remind people of the normality, the beauty, and the necessity of being naked in nature. I'm trying to demonstrate a combined ideal of both aesthetics and social behavior in the hope of encouraging others to take the same approach, to reject subjective, temporary social norms in favor of rational, moral decisions.

Next three shots by Spencer Kayne

What was your favorite part about collaborating with Spencer Kayne?
It was one of those experiences I love that involve a prolonged period of sensual teasing and photography intermixed. We've shot together before, but this latest adventure involved a couple of days up in the mountains in wetsuits and spandex suits, taking turns posing for each other and turning each other on for some more bugle-on-bulge action later that night after the campfire. Getting together with him is always a special treat because we share a lot of the same gear kinks, so we get to indulge that together.

Given you've shot with so many photographers, what do you look for in a creative capturer?
Both technical skill and creative sensibility. I prefer to shoot with photographers who I can see do a good job of expressing sensuality and erotic intensity in their photos. And someone who isn't reluctant to take risks or scramble into hard-to-reach places is also a plus!

Curious about the best, the worst and the most embarrassing or proactive response from a viewer?
The best response is always when my getting naked or being sexual inspires someone else to do the same. That's mission accomplished for the main objectives. The worst response, I'm tempted to say, is getting complimented on something I know isn't all that good. And I can't say I have a most embarrassing response, but there's been a number of very pleasant proactive responses from viewers over the years where we've ended up naked together afterwards!

Next 6 images by Powereye

What was your favorite part about working with Wonder Hunter (Powereye)?
I'd wanted to for some time after DW Chase recommended him, and it was also our first shoot together with a photographer other than ourselves, so double the fun! We got some fantastically sultry images out on the trail that I think would make a great coffee table book, and he does a great job with the clarity and depth of his shots.

What made you choose the PowerEye images as favorites?
Generally, how much fun DW Chase and I are having in them. The one where we're replicating Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling pose is one of my favorite shots ever, not just because of the reference or of how well we did it, but also because of the way that little glow around us popped out in that image without needing to be added in post-production.

The shot where we're laughing in the water has a funny story behind it because we were actually laughing at how freezing cold it was for me! Plus I always just appreciate getting to do duo shots with him, it's fun and we've come up with some really erotic work over the years.

What has been your favorite experience shooting nude thus far?
It's hard to choose, but probably those couple of days in Florida in 2021 with my German friend and fellow nudist blogger Male Body Poetry. We spent one of those days down at Virginia Key, well-oiled up in the sunshine with the boats in the background, and the other wandering the streets and parks of Fort Lauderdale, stripping down to shoot guerrilla-style in an expression of total freedom completely suited to the tropical climate. Sensual and thrilling in every respect!

Do you have a least favorite?
I don't know that there's a least favorite specifically, but some of the early shoots in Hawaii didn't turn out as well as I would have liked in retrospect. Shooting nude is supposed to be fun, after all!

What is left for Tim, creative-wise? Any ideas or themes you're still dying to shoot?
Far too many projects! I recently launched a weekly newsletter covering arts and politics in Sedona, where I live, and I'm currently working on completing two books, one a study of politics and government in Sedona and the other a study of the coevolution of human culture and human biochemistry.

I'm also learning the native flute at the moment--and trying to remember to get out into the landscape of Arizona and get naked in front of the camera. There's still so many things I want to shoot. Myself naked on horseback is a major one. More country and Western-themed shots. More acrobatic shots as I continue to work on my flexibility. Always more shoots with other models. A nude airplane shoot would be another goal. And more underwater photos!
