Dorian Gray?
'I am tired of myself tonight. I should like to be somebody else.'
When I was searching for stories for today's theme, I cam upon on this series from photographer Jack Mitchell. The 'actor' went by the name of Dorian Gray and is often described as an Andy Warhol superstar. I'm not sure exactly what that means, as I don't think he appeared in any of Warhol's films. I did find a clip of him on Youtube, (HERE:) acting with Candy Darling at Warhol's Factory.
In some places, he's credited as Darling's boyfriend, but like his stage name of Dorian Gray, that may have just been part of the persona he put forward. I couldn't find his real name, nor if he's still alive, but he certainly has that 1970's Dorian Gray look down pat.
Ben Barnes in Dorian Gray
Eternally Beautiful. Eternally Damned
Ben Barnes
Dorian Gray
Feature Film: 2009
I started crushing over English actor back in the late 2000's after seeing his beautiful face in the 2008 fantasy film, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. The image above was one of the first images of Ben I featured on the site, the image below, one of the most recent. Anyone who watched Ben as Tim Jamieson in Stephen King's The Institute saw that although he has certainly aged, he's as beautiful and hot as ever.
I think it was Ben's 2009 turn in Dorian Gray that first introduced me to the character on film. I'd known of the character, the story and Oscar Wilde's novel, but I don't remember seeing it on film prior to 2009. Since then, I've caught several other versions. Although the 2009 film for me was a bit 'tame', Ben certainly made a delicious Dorian. It was also the first time we got a little skin from Ben on screen.

Ethan Erickson in Pact With The Devil
'Beauty is only skin deep.'
Pact With The Devil
Ethan Erickson as Dorian
Feature Film: 2003
In 2003's Pact With The Devil, Dorian, (Ethan Erickson) has it all: money, fame, beautiful women. The one thing he doesn't have is time, and when that goes, so will his looks and his modeling career. His mysterious agent Henry Wooten has an offer that Dorian can't refuse: eternal youth.
I've lusted after actor Ethan Erickson even before ever seeing him on-screen. During the 90's, Erickson appeared on Guiding Light, leading to many tease and shirtless shots appeared in magazines and then on-line. I think I first saw the actor on film in episodes of Melrose Place and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also appeared in films including Scream 3 and Jawbreaker.
I'm guessing many of you remember Erickson seductively sucking on a popsicle from Jawbreaker. I did a previous piece on the scene HERE:
Pact With The Devil has a stellar cast including Malcom McDowell and Christopher Waltz. Erickson was and is a beautiful man and was perfectly cast as Dorian. Despite having a number of credits on his resume, the ole 'introducing' Ethan Erickson was used in the films opening credits.
It appears the actor showed just a wee bit of butt in one scene, but it's difficult to find a decent copy. The full movie is on Youtube, (HERE:) but the sex scene is a bit blurry. Sad, as it's really the only thing close to a nude scene on the actor's resume.
Josh Duhamel in The Picture of Darian Gray
'A corrupt young man somehow keeps his youthful beauty, but a special painting gradually reveals his inner ugliness to all.'
Josh Duhamel
The Picture of Dorian Gray
Film, 2004
Model turned actor Josh Duhamel made a splash in the early 2000's with his role as Leo on All My Children. I believe the 2004 film, The Picture of Dorian Gray was Duhamel's first film role after leaving the series. Duhamel was always beautiful, his early nude modeling shots from Greg Gorman cement that for eternity. I did love that film had Josh as a blond. I always thought he was handsome and sexy, but the blond hair seemed to bring out even further, the beauty of his face and eyes.
I'm not quite sure this film ever got a theatrical release in America. It appears it hit the big screens in Europe, but may have made it's debut in the U.S.A as a television movie, and then DVD release. I've seen the trailer and clips on Youtube, but have yet to see the entire film. Thanks to Scenes of Male Skin however, we get a glimpse of Duhamel's tighy whitie scene, and first butt baring scene on film.
'There's my very first thing I ever booked a picture of Dorian Gray and I remember seeing the casting director being like I knew then that I got this, I can do this.'
Josh Duhamel
