Joyeuses Pâques! 🥕
Happy EASTER to all those celebrating this weekend!
Wishing everyone a safe and peaceful holiday with firmly packed baskets!
Support Bunny 🐰
Strangers in their own birthplace, Danny and his older brother Odysseus cross the entire country in search of their Greek father, after their Albanian mother passes away.
Finding Easter themed movies for my 12 Days holiday posts can be a challenge. Sure, there are tons of Easter movie, but not so many on theme. (aka with scenes of male nudity.) This year when searching, 2014' Xenia came up. Now the film has nothing to with the Easter holiday, but it does have a cute little white bunny in a supporting role.
The Greek created Xenia stars actors Kostas Nikouli and Nikos Gelia as the brothers. Kostas character Dany is the younger brother and owns the the little white rabbit named Dido. Director Panos H. Koutras uses Dido in many ways throughout the movie. Dido initially serves as a symbol for Dany's youth and innocence. Dido is also a form of support for Dany's childhood trauma, and his vivid imagination.
The bunny acts as a surreal, magical-realist companion that transforms throughout the journey, representing both a comforting childhood plush toy and a larger-than-life hallucination. As the story progresses and Dany faces harsh realities, the rabbit changes, reflecting his transition from innocence toward a more complex maturity, appearing as a "gigantic" figment that eventually cannot be contained by the screen.
Along their journey the brothers land in several locations, including an old run-down abandoned building. It's there the nude scene occurs with a nude shower and an underwear dance. Although they play much younger, Nikouli would have been 19 or 20 during filming, and Gelia would have been 22 or 23. You can check out caps and video on THE NEXT PAGE HERE:
Watch Out! Alby by TR Pics
I wasn't sure FH was going to have an original Easter shoot this year, until Tom from TR Pics let me know that Alby had approached him about a shoot. As soon as Tom mentioned Alby, I was immediately on excited to see what they created. Many of you may remember Alby from a post earlier this year, when he posed with a randy rodent for some Groundhog day themed shots. (HERE:) I loved that Alby embraced the fun of the holiday theme and all the erotically charged fun that Tom captured.

Weight of the World: Stellar by Deuzeman Photography
I don't often post religious imagery. It has nothing to do with my personal beliefs, or my own faith, it's more that historically religion has been used to harm more than to help. Sadly, lessons were not learned, and over the last few years, the far-right has again tapped into religion to justify their bigotry and cruelty.
I make an except however on religious holidays. Regardless of what we believe personally, many holidays are soaked in religious tradition and history. Back in 2020, I was looking for images to celebrate Good Friday on the site. I was fortunate to have been following a model on Model Mayhem who had some powerful shots on theme. The model was Bas, and the artist who captured the shots was Jan Deuzeman.
I featured their work in two posts that Easter, (HERE:) and have been fortunate to have featured Jan's work many time since. This year, The Netherlands based photographer's Easter shoot was inspired by a song by the Indie pop band Gossip. The lyrics of the song Heavy Cross talk about what a cruel world it is, especially when your in a position to face on your won.
12 Days: Xenia
Together they will go far.
I found a copy of Xenia on-line and was instantly drawn into the story, the characters and the actor's performances. I did however, not have subtitles, so only heard Greek. Even without understanding a word, the performances, the visuals and the writing and directing from Panos H. Koutras made it an emotional watch.
Actors Kostas Nikouli, (Dany) and Nikos Gelia, (Odysseas) were both new to acting during the filming, I believe it was Nikouli's first professional role. Both rose to the occasion given their character's emotional arcs and the complex relationship between the brothers. Although the film is described as a romance drama, there was no actual incest between the two brothers. Their certainly were homoerotic moments however, and an emotional connection due to circumstance.
