She Done Good....

Brandon Sklenar in The Housemaid
A struggling young woman is relieved by the chance for a fresh start as a maid for a wealthy couple. Soon, she discovers that the family's secrets are far more dangerous than her own.
I was late to the Brandon Sklenar game, but I've been playing hard to catch up. Last fall, I posted about the talented actor after promo pictures from The Housemaid were making the rounds on social media. In addition to his handsome face, the spotlight was on the actor's incredible arms.
Deciding to watch a movie is similar to playing a game. Sometimes you have to go with the odds. Although I'm not a fan of Sydney Sweeney, (her acting and her public image) I do love me some Sklenar. I'm also a big fan of Amanda Seyfried an director Paul Feig, so in this case, the odds are (75%) in my favor.
I am planning to stream the film this weekend, but have read a few reviews, and caught a few scenes, and a deleted scene, which have been posted on-line. Most are quite positive, even from lovers of the The Housemaid book series from author Freida McFadden. Book loves can be hard to please when it comes to film adaptations. I know from first hand experience.
I LOVE reading Stephen King novels, but have disliked most of the film adaptations. There have been a few exceptions of course. I think a well written novel allows the reader to visualize the story, and it can be a jolt, when the visuals of another are on screen, conflicting with the already embedded visuals. Sine I haven't read The Housemaid, I simply enjoy devouring every Sklenar scene. They've already ensured those arms get attention, and his glorious behind gets a turn as well.
