I know as a society we've gone a little 'selfie' crazy, but as sometimes it's interesting to think back. As someone who went through high school in the 90's, I remember the time just before computers, cell phones and digital cameras became common place. I wasn't out until I was in my twenties and had a long term girlfriend through most of high school. I remember buying a polaroid camera and taking sexy selfies with my girlfriend.
Back then, except for locker rooms when I was playing hockey, seeing a hot half-naked man wasn't easy. There were magazines, but anyone who was hiding, remembers how scary and risky it was to buy them. I'd usually throw a Time Magazine and a Sports Illustrated on top of the Playgirl, actually thinking the salesperson wouldn't know when periodical I was most interested in.
Today, thanks mostly to cell phones, we all have the ability to take sexy selfies anytime we want. There's no longer any risk in the taking, if any, it's maybe in the sharing. There was a time, we could only fantasize about what our fitness trainer looked liked sans clothes, not anymore!
