Sam Tutty in Two Strangers

'She's called the Big Apple
No one knows why
But she's my kind of town,
and I'm her kind of street-smart guy'

One of my favorite parts of the Tony's, is being introduced to actors I'd not heard of before.  I've 'met' so many actors for the first time, (including Aaron Tveit and Isaac Cole Powell) while watching the show.  This year, one of my favorite introductions was to English actor Sam Tutty.  I'd never heard or seen Tutty before, nor had I heard of his show, Two Strangers (Carry A Cake Across New York).

FH readers know I love me a cute ginger, and Tutty is adorable.  He's also incredibly talented, and I enjoyed his energy during his performance from the show.  I've since read a few reviews, some loving the show, others.. not so much.   Regardless, I enjoyed my introduction to Tutty in his Broadway debut.

Although new to Broadway, Tutty is no stranger to belting it out on stage.  Tutty has an extensive resume of stage credits in the UK including a 2019 turn in a West End production of Dear Evan Hansen.  Tutty's performance gained widespread praise from critics. And he was nominated for numerous awards, including the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical in 2020. At age 22, Tutty is one of the youngest winners of the most prestigious UK theatrical award

Joshua Henry in Ragtime

Say goodbye to music
Say goodbye to light
Anything I cared for
Take it from my sight

I was so happy to see actor Joshua Henry win for Best Lead Actor in a Musical for his role as Coalhouse in Ragtime.  Although I'm not a big fan of the show,  (it has some problematic elements) it is a classic, with some great songs.  I am however a huge fan of Henry who I first started crushing over after watching him close to 15 years ago when he performed on the 2011 Tony Awards.

The show was the Scottsboro Boys and Henry was amazing during the show.  I didn't have a DVR at the time, but a DVD recorder, and always recorded the Tony's.  The DVD with the 2011 Tony's had several award shows on it and I wore it out over the years watching, but mostly listening to t he shows. Henry earned his first Tony nomination for the show, and received to others, in 2014 for Violet, and in 2018 for Carousel.  In Henry's case, the fourth time's the charm!

Constantine Rousouli in TitanĂque

If you asked me to,
I just might change my mind,
And let you in my life forever..

I've read a few articles and reviews about TitanĂque and all were raves.  I have to admit, I was little disappointed in seeing, (and more listening) to Marla Mindelle , (Celine Dion) at the Tony's.  Most critics rave about her performance, and maybe the Tony's wasn't the right venue, but the Celine schtick got old very quickly.  I can see how it would work in the show however, and id enjoy the productions ensemble number.

I also enjoyed seeing actor Constantine Rousouli  playing Jack Dawson in the show.  I've been enjoying Rousouli's work for awhile, from his television and film roles, to his previous appearances on Broadway Bares.

In addition to starring as Jack, Rousouli is also one of the show's creators and producers.   Although no longer with the show, the talented singer and actor started with the show off-Broadway in 2022 and continued playing Jack for three years after it moved to the St. James Theatre on Broadway.

AJ And The Queen

Oh my, this scene from the 10th episode of AJ the Queen makes me finally want to check out the short-lived story.

Luke Evans in Rocky Horror Show

 Such an effort
If he only knew of my plan
In just seven days
I can make you a man

I'm not sure any other character could make an interest bigger and better than Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show.  I'd seen clips of actor Luke Evans in the role before watching him on the Tony's, and he always seems to be having a ball and giving everything he has to his performances.  He's also incredibly sexy in the stockings, and in the role.

I've of course been familiar with Evan's work on film and television but wasn't as familiar with his singing career and his extensive theatre resume.  Although The Rocky Horror Show marks his Broadway debut, he's appeared on stages in the UK since the early 2000's.  Starting with the show Taboo, Evans has also appeared in shows including; Miss Saigon, Rent and Avenue Q.

Above: Although it aired on CBS, Evan's little wiggle at the end of the show, (above) has been deleted from most copies of the performances that have appeared on the official site and on-line.

No stranger to showing off his hot bod, there are hundreds of paparazzi shots of Evans, mostly in speedos, all over the net!  At 47, he looks as fit, and as hot, as ever!

Evans has also stripped down in several films.  I think my favorite is in 2013 British series, The Great Train Robbery. (below)  I believe it was the clip below that first introduced me to the actor, and began my long standing crush.
