Short Bursts: Isaac Green by Michael von Redlich

'I think the biggest challenge was the wind and the Isaac's ability to stay erect in the freezing cold.  We went at it in short bursts.'

I think some of my favorite shoots, are of the male form are the ones shot in places they don't belong.  Nude models shot in old abandoned banks and churches,  run-down houses, busy, public and crowded spaces and of course, out in the snow.  Studio and beach shoots are great, but there is just something especially intriguing, about seeing exposed bodies in unexpected, and perilous positions and places.

I feature a lot of male models in the snow.  Most however, are just regular guys, mooning, or stripping down for a few seconds in the sub zero temperatures.  They yank down their pants, just long enough to get the shot, then pull them quickly back up and head back inside.  Very few models and photographers head out for prolonged shoots on snowy winter days.  Thankfully, every year, I'm able to find a few brave souls, risking the elements, the possibility of getting a cold or the flu, not to mention frost bite, to capture images in the snow.

During the last few months of last year, I was fortunate to have featured several shoots, (HERE:) featuring model Isaac Green with photographer Michael von Redlich.  Most of them were shot in the Autumn, with chilly weather, especially in the woods, and near the water where they were shooting.  When I saw that Michael and Isaac had got together again, this time, in the middle of January, I had to bug them again about featuring their winter work together.

This was Michael's first time shooting in the show, and was in awe of Isaac's courage and tenacity to just 'go for it' during the shoot,  Michael always tries to be sensitive to both his models comfort and safety, but ultimately, Isaac wanted to strip down and get the shots.  So much so, they actually completed three snow shoots, with even more, possibly on the way!

Given it was his first time shooting in such wintery conditions, Michael shares that he and Isaac learned what worked, and what didn't, as they went along.  In the end, the wind and the cold meant staying outside for long periods of time impossible, especially during the moments when Isaac was erect.  That meant, heading out for short periods of time, and shooting in short bursts, then heading back inside for Isaac to both warm up and re-energize, to maintain his endurance and staying power.

'We've shot in the snow three times this season, the temperatures ranged from around 15°F - 25°F, so nothing to gawk at. I've been increasing my tolerance throughout the season by wearing less clothes than usual during my regular days, when I'm not shooting.'

So I know what you're thinking, these shots were all shot inside.  Sure, there's a ton of snow and ice, but it's all on the other side of the windows.  These were the warm ups, the shots for Isaac to literally 'warm up' before heading out into the cold.  Check those out on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

I believe the shot below is the exact moment that Michael said that they'd shot enough inside, and it was now time to head outside....

Crisp: Isaac by Michael von Redlich

'It was a perfect late fall day.'

Although I love all four of the seasons, I'm especially passionate about visuals of the male form surrounded by everything Autumn.  There's no studio on earth, that can replicate the beauty and colors of an actual fall backdrop.  Skilled photographers not only capture the visuals, but the unique feel of a crisp fall day.

In this set of images, photographer Michael von Redlich not only captures the beauty of model Isaac Green, (naturetwink603) but all of natures grandeur surrounding him.  You can almost feel the cool air on Isaac's skin, not to mention the roughness of the tree bark. If you listen closely, you can also almost hear the faint crackling of the leaves on the ground under Isaac's bare feet.

Photographer Michael von Redlich isn't only a favorite chronicler of the male form, he's also one of my favorite chroniclers of Autumn.  Last year, Michael shared a series of fall themed shots, with a variety of models he's worked with over the years. (HERE:)  I believe it was actually an Autumn image of Dan, (HERE:) that had me first reach out to Michael about a piece on the site many years ago.

If you click on part 2 of the feature, (HERE) you'll see after Dan slips out of his clothing, he wades into the cool water.  The images of a naked Dan, bathing in the cool river, with the colors of Autumn reflected in the water, remain at the top of my list of all-time favorite seasonal shots.

Although Isaac doesn't go for a dip in this series, he's no stranger to plunging his body into cool bodies of water, and even freezing fields of snow.  That doesn't mean the water didn't impact this shoot.  As you can see, Isaac creates many of his most sensual poses next to a lake.  Given how water temperature impacts air temperature, the location made those rocks Isaac is spread out over, would be incredibly hard, and incredibly cold.  I'm guessing it felt a little like posing naked on a large block of ice.

Although I think I posted most of the Autumn themed images Michael sent on, I still have a few sets tucked away, many featuring Isaac, I'm looking to sharing before winter barges in to push fall aside. Thanks to Michael and Isaac for sharing with FH, their perfect Autumn day.

Autumnal Unwears: Isaac by Michael von Redlich

'You may not be able to change the weather, but you can dress accordingly to help cope with it.'

If you live somewhere that goes through each of the four seasons, you know about seasonal clothing.  You probably remember your mother hounding you twice a year that it was time to unpack your 'winter' or 'summer' clothes.  Most of us had a place or storage box that stored our off seasons clothes.  I hated equally putting away my shorts and tank tops in the fall, and my winter jackets and long johns in the spring.

Although we experience all four seasons,  we usually only had storage boxes for two of them.  We really didn't have a designated space for 'Autumn' and 'Spring' clothes, although there was one specific piece of clothing I had versions of for each of the four seasons.  That of course was the jacket.   I had a light coat for spring, a windbreaker for the summer, two jackets for winter, (a winter jacket and a heavier parka) and one jacket for fall.

The fall jacket was light enough to wear even if it was warm outside, and also warm enough to shield the body from the brisk Autumn winds.  As much as I loved my fall jacket, it was also one I also loved to unwear.  I was always taking it off when playing outside, and have vivid memories of my mother yelling at me to 'put my jacket back on.'   It's also the jacket I was most likely leave somewhere, and be forced to return later to find.

I'm quite sure if one of his parents was nearby on the day of this shoot, if they would have been yelling at model Isaac Green, (naturetwink603) to put his jacket back on.  Although I have profiled a few nude models who had their mothers as their managers, it's really a good thing that parents are usually not in attendance during nude photoshoots.  If Isaac's were present this shoot, they'd most likely be yelling at him to also keep his pants on as well...

Many of you are familiar with Isaac, and his collaborations with photographer Michael von Redlich.  Michael shared a treasure trove of images from the multiple shoots last year, some of which I've previously featured on the site. (HERE:)  Michael shot Isaac over multiple seasons, and if you checked out those previous pieces, you saw that photographer and model battled not just late summer sun, but the cool Autumn air and perilous elements of winter.

By far however, most of the images Michael shared of Isaac were Autumnal themed.  Although they haven't shot in quite awhile, Isaac has fond memories of his adventures with Michael and all the content they created.  Since his last shoot with Michael, Isaac has had the opportunity to travel and work in a variety of other photographers.  Isaac promises he has a lot of great new content to share on his social media sites over the next few months.

Now if you've seen Isaac's work, and Michael's for that matter, you know that regardless of the season, or the temperature, eventually that jacket, and those pants, eventually come off.  Check out more of Michael's work with Isaac, without any restrictions from those pesky fall fashions, on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

Spring Tune-Up: Isaac by Michael von Redlich

'I'm so excited for all of the colors that spring will bring, as well as more car photography.'

I've been writing recently about the signs of spring.  Most are visual, or hit and affect the human bodies senses in some way.  Others... are more practical or habitual.  For many of us, spring also means it's time to take our cars in for their annual spring tune-up.

I know some people choose to do winter tune-ups, but given how much snow we get in the rural area where I live, I don't do as much recreational driving in the winter.  It's during the summer I take road trips, head to the city and visit my siblings, some who live a six hour drive away.  I usually wait until April, and after our last snow.  I'm hoping the spring dump of the white stuff we got this week was the last, meaning it's time for me to make an appointment.

The last time we saw model Isaac Green, it was in the dead of winter.  New Hampshire based model was naked, shivering his ass off, as photographer Michael von Redlich captured Isaac surrounded by ice and snow. (HERE:)  Since I've featured Michael's work with Isaac throughout the fall and winter, it only made sense celebrate their work with a spotlight in spring.

As a huge car enthusiast, model Isaac was excited when Michael suggested they shoot with a collection of modern and classic automobiles.   Michael sent along several different shoots with Isaac posing on, and in a series of cars.  This series, featuring Isaac tinkering under the hood of a Honda CRV, was one of my favorites.

'Shooting with these cars is such a blast, though I often get distracted by their beauty and have trouble preventing myself from nerding out about the details with the owners.'

It was a little warmer on the day of this shoot, than the January shoot in the snow.  It wasn't exactly warm though, and there was still quite a chill in the air.  Isaac remembers that the heat from under the hood provided a bit of a refuge, keeping his sensitive bits nice and toasty.  If only all car mechanics worked naked like Isaac.  Repair shops would make a fortune and it would make those spring tune up appointments a lot more fun.

November Waters: Isaac Green by Michael von Redlich

'I believe that nature is the greatest form of creativity. An artist's ultimate goal is to replicate its patterns, vibrancy, and liveliness in their own work in some way.'

If you're a regular reader of FH, you know I've been celebrating the season with Autumnal work from photographer Michael von Redlich.  Since September, I've featured Michael's work over a dozen times, featuring nine different models.  Each was shot outside, surrounded by by the reds, yellows and oranges that bedeck nature's canvas in the fall.

Although Autumn doesn't officially end until next month, for most us, the colors have peaked, and we're approaching the dark, baren, and mostly brown, pre-winter season.  One of the things I love doing this time of year is head to the beach.  I know that might sound strange to some, there's not enough heat to layout, and far too cold to swim.  Sill, it's one of my favorite times to enjoy the natural beauty of the shore.

It's still warm enough, if you wear a coat or sweater, to enjoy a long walk or run.  It's especially tranquil without the crowds people, and all the little kids running around.  Sometimes, if you hit just the right moment, you have the beach all to yourself.  Come December and January it's usually too cold and windy to enjoy a casual stroll on the beach, but mid-November is picture perfect.

Seemed the perfect time for Michael to head to the beach with model Isaac Green, (naturetwink603) to capture the last feels of fall.  The leaves may not be as colorful, but they're still clinging to the tree's until their eventual fluttery decent to the ground.

Most of the previous autumn themed pieces spotlighting Michael's work featured models he shot in previous years, and previous Autumn's.  This shoot however, is brand new, as Michael and Isaac only recently creatively connected.  As you might surmise from Isaac's online nick naturetwink603, nature is a core component to the 19 year old's passion for creating.

What or who first brought you to modeling?
Creativity is my greatest passion. I used to create visual artwork religiously throughout my childhood, though as I transitioned into adulthood the passion didn't stick. I still crave participating in creative works and modeling has been a more than suitable outlet for that.

Did you have any reservations before deciding to pose nude?
My biggest concern with nude posing, specifically outdoors, was accidental exposure. My passion for capturing my self-image in a creative and erotic way has helped me push past my reservations.

How nervous, if at all, were you before your first nude shoot?
Because of these reservations, I was quite nervous. Though Michael's energy and direction made it easy to feel comfortable outside.

Was you shoot with Michael your first nude shoot or had you done others before?
I posed nude before, both on and in a converted GMC camper that I rented for a weekend, as well as in a window while staying in Porto, Portugal.

Had you done other nude things, (skinny dipping/ art class posing) prior to modeling?
Shockingly, aside from photoshoots, I don't have any experience being nude in that kind of setting. Even at the beach, my shirt is typically hugging my body!

With his fall fashions now fully stripped off and lying on the forest floor, check out much more of Isaac and his work with Michael, on the NEXT PAGE HERE:

'The hikers interrupted at such an unfortunate time! Michael was filming a video which was supposed to have a "happy ending." The hikers came upon us like ninjas and I had just enough time to cover up. Michael was a trooper though. He greeted them as if our shoot was perfectly innocent. '
