I forgot each year how much I love The Traitors. Usually in late Autumn, when the mostly ex-reality player roster is listed, I roll my eyes with the choices. Then when I watch, even reality stars I disliked, or ones I haven't heard of, rise to the game play, and I get pulled into the round table all over again.
There wasn't really anyone playing this year on the US version I cared to see. Again however, even reality stars who annoy the shit of me, (Robyn, RHOP) are making good TV. I have a few favorites, but the one at the top of the list is without a doubt Dylan Efron.
I certainly seen images of Zac's younger brother before, but I didn't appreciate his beauty, and his personality, until seeing him on The Traitors. Dylan is a fresh face amongst the nest of reality show vipers, and although new to knifing others in the back, he is no fool. A stuntman and accomplished athlete, Dylan has traveled the globe, and hopefully will soon sideline his sweetness and play to win. Dylan's already got the number of Bob the drag queen, and knows he has to play it smart so he's not targeted next. Let's hope he stays awhile.
One of the most annoying things about The Traitors is the spoilers. I know spoilers can't be avoided, and are a fact in today's online and television watching culture.. Usually, I accept, and just roll with it. I love posting and reading comments during award shows and live sporting events. With streaming shows however , there really should be more respect. Unlike a show like Survivor, that airs at specific time every week, The Traitors first three episodes were released at midnight last Friday.
Last Friday, I didn't even remember The Traitors was dropping, and popped on to Twitter to check on the fires in California. It was barely after midnight, and several people I follow were already posing specific spoilers for the show in posting detailed tweets about who was a traitor, who was brought back in the twist and who was killed. I love their enthusiasm, but wondered if they knew how aggressively disrespectful they were being.
Could they not have just posted 'great episode' or 'loved the twist', why write the specifics when they had to have know most viewers had not yet turned in. It wasn't like a show on network that airs the same day and time every week. One day I'll write about the rise of reality television and it's connection to our current political climate and the decrease in respect and caring for others.
The ties are tight, and there are many, but let's get back to the subject at hand, the hottness and sweetness of Dylan Efron. The producers of The Traitors obviously understand his appeal as well. Hence the shirtless shots we got in episode 3! Let us hope for more.
